Sergio Perez had a 3 places penalty for impeding in today's practice and will now start fifth behind the second Ferrari.

Another mistake for this driver who proved to be quite weak.

But maybe that's exactly what Redbull wants.
A second driver that is unable compete with Max's victories and that at the end of the championship still manages to finish second ahead of the others.

I think Perez is a great wingman but when it comes to actually deliver , he is not there but overall , like you said , he can't compete with Max at all but on the same time this should be where he ends his F1 career because I don't see a new team offering him a new contract while so many young drivers are waiting for an F1 seat. 

Almost 5 hours left until race and I think Ferrari will snatch this race with Leclerc as a winner.

We finally watched a different race!    Verstappen had a mechanical failure in the first laps of the race and said goodbye early. His rear brake exploded like a bomb and his car caught fire after that. This completely changed the race really. Sainz had a big opportunity ahead of him and used it in a great way by winning the race. 

This was a wonderful weekend for Ferrari as they captured top 2 positions. It was the same for McLaren also. Norris was the last member of podium and Piastri was right behind.

After undergoing a surgery this was the best return scenario for Sainz. Huge congrats to him.

Toprak Razgatlıoglu's skill in the WSBK race for today's Race2 session really amazed the audience because he managed to overtake Alvaro Bautista at the final corner of Catalunya just like Valentino Rossi overtook Jorge Lorenzo in MotoGP 2009 at the same point too. This really gave a pretty sweet impression to BMW and Toprak because he was immediately able to adapt himself to a motorbike that was very different from last year.

Now I'm waiting for the Portimao MotoGP race because yesterday Marquez also put up quite a fierce fight in getting his best position. Although I thought that Marquez would not get a good position before Bagnaia left the track and managed to finish in the top four and today everyone will see how each rider competes for the best position because on average Ducati motorbikes are very good here (Circuit Portimao).

Yeah...  Leclerc should've done better at quali imho.  It would've been his race to win.  But over all good results for Ferrari and McLaren.  Bad ones for Red Bull and Mercedes.    Are we seeing a premonition of what's to come in the next couple of years?    One thing's for sure...  Without Horner and Newey, Red Bull won't be the same team.

Verstapppen, Hamilton and Russell all couldn't finish the race. This was the only way Verstappen would fail and it really happened. It was a really poor weekend for Mercedes. Russell's crash was very unfortunate as it happened during the last lap. It was the same for Hamilton when his engine died all of a sudden. 

I wasn't expecting to see such an interesting race honestly. A podium of Sainz - Leclerc - Norris was quite unexpected. Sainz indeed came back strongly by a win. He got only one win in the previous season so I'm curious about whether he will improve this number this year.

It was really quite a tense and quite spectacular race today in Portimao Portugal and even though Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini were able to maintain the rhythm of the race until they finished on the podium today. My attention today is more focused on a rookie, namely Pedro Acosta, who was able to beat the defending champion (Bagnaia) and also the eight-time MotoGP champion (Marquez) before the two fell due to a collision on the left corner. And today is certainly a very happy day for a rookie because he can immediately experience the podium in the second round of MotoGP this season. Congratulations to Pedro Acosta for his first podium in the MotoGP class.

I don't see where the race was interesting at all,as after Verstappen failed because of the brakes I saw a Sainz fully dominating the race just like Verstappen would have done if he had not problems.This showed the big difference in cars together with each other,the only car driving fast was McLaren as they were driving the fastest but that was not enough because the gap was already big enough and as such I didn't see any interesting fact in this race.The fact that both Hamilton and Russell said that the Redbull was like a rocket ship meaning the car was very fast compared to them was not fast enough to fight the McLaren-s and Ferrari-s,another fact which further emphasizes that Verstappen is a great driver much better than Perez and the rest of the grid.

wonderful race for Ferrari especially with Carlos.

He managed to maintain an excellent pace throughout the race.
Charsle had some problems with the tires but managed to take second place and set the fastest lap.

The Redbull is still the clearly dominant car.
But as demonstrated in the preseason tests, it could have problems with tire degradation.

Too bad there was an accident between Marc and Pecco that made them crashed although March was still able to finish in 16th place
Bad luck for Vinales as well because he crashed in the last lap while he should be able to finish on 2nd position to make a good overall result on this 2nd race after he won the Sprint Race yesterday.
For the rookie Pedro Acosta, nothing else to say except "amazing" as he rides like nothing to lose and he does not care about who his competitors.
He can be said as the next "baby alien" or "baby alien reincarnation" LOL because his riding style looks similar to Marc when he was young.

Sainz is still the only driver to win besides Max Verstappen and Perez after so many races that I forgot the number to be honest and this proves that Carlos is indeed an F1 gem that should find a GOOD TEAM asap for 2025 season because the hunger he will have for podiums this year will be top tier as long as his car and race strategist will allow him to because after all Charles is the Nr1 driver.

Overall , very happy to see Oscar doing so fine on his home race but not happy with McLaren decision but I can understand it but it's clear that Piastri is becoming better and better than Norris with each lap he makes.

Charles is Ferrari's current poster boy. They will give that man the number 1 seat over Sainz who's continuously improving despite being shadowed by Charles at most times. He's a great driver that can go very aggressive against better teams, and I believe he will do even more if he's in a team with a better car as the number 1 driver.

There aren't a lot of many good teams with a good car that is better than Ferrari right now, and it'll be tough for them to choose Sainz over their boys even. I just kinda wish that the red guys will see Sainz more than a 2nd driver, as he's been very consistent for quite some time now while Leclerc is always struggling to get better placement not until Sainz comes in for help.

It has been a looooong time since we have seen a race without Max, and it was definitely a great one to show you that it is not actually that dominated by Max because of a better car, but because of the skill level he has. Perez is racing a Red Bull car too, and we have seen how he wasn't doing that great, for the past 2 years, how many times Perez came in second? Not many times to be fair.

This is why it is quite important to remember that if Max didn't race, as we can see from this game, we would still see others win, it is not like Mercedes Hamilton issue, if Hamilton failed then Bottas won, this one isn't like that, it's Max that dominates. In the end, Max was bound to have at least one problem, you can't just have zero reliability issues forever until you retire, and turns out, this one was the one.

It was a bad week for Red Bull. With Verstappen suffering a brake failure and Perez suffering base damage, they had to be thankful for the points. Mercedes, on the other hand, are going down day by day. Just when they thought they were making a good impression after 2022, they started to underperform even more.

Hamilton said after the race that he had no expectations for Japan-Suzuka. I've never heard Hamilton sound so hopeless before. He's mentally left Mercedes and is already counting the days for the Ferrari seat. McLaren, on the other hand, have a very good pace and if they maintain their consistency they can at least challenge for second place. Piastri is starting to have more consistent races as he gains experience. For me it was an ordinary race and the Red Bull hegemony continues despite the breakdowns.

Disaster in MotoGP.

Bagnaia and Marquez have thrown away a lot of points and what they have done good so far.

I expected to see Martin first in the general leaderboard but not so soon.
At the moment he already has a decent advantage and if he continues with this average points that he managed to strengthen since the middle of last season, it will be difficult for everyone.

As expected, the ranking is dominated by Ducati and KTM.

the next race will be in the United States of America, so after racing in Portugal they make an intercontinental trip and then do it again to compete in Spain.

If max had no problems, he would probably win again. But it was good to see that the F1 cars are also machines and can have problems. Max will probably win another 10 races after that. In russell's accident, I don't think it was alonso's fault, the 20-second penalty was not fair. Finally, I will add that I hope to see ricciardo retire from the tracks in the near future and that young people who deserve that seat can sit in the seat he occupies. Ferrari is by far the second fastest car on the grid so far. Frankly, Ferrari has been doing a good job since its collaboration with Frederick Vasseur. It gives a lot of hope for the future.

What do you think about the panalty they given to Alonso?
Is his fault if Russell has crashed? If yes the penalty is even too light.

Not sure about its fault, he seems to slowed down, I'm pretty sure judges have seen the telemetry before giving the time penalty to him.

When that incident happened, I didn't think that Alonso was at fault for this incident, but when I saw the reply in slow motion, there Alonso braked twice, and caused Russell to be unable to control his car from behind because his position at that time was at high speed. Alonso was guilty of this and he deserved a penalty, but I felt that the penalty was still quite light considering how messy Russell's car was after the accident. The FIA should have given Alonso a heavier penalty.

I don't see it the same way as you with a disaster, it was a very good race with a racing accident between Bagnaia and Marc, which doesn't have to happen but can.

Otherwise, it was a good race with a lot of bad luck for Vinales at the end, and good to see that three manufacturers can compete for the podium, at the beginning I thought it would be a Formula Ducati, very good.

In addition, a new star is rising at KTM with Acosta, KTM should definitely sign a long-term contract with Acosta for the next few years.

I started to think Ferrari shouldn't have decided to part ways with Sainz. Look at how ambitious he is now. He collected only a few points less than Leclerc last season. He did this although he had a slightly weaker car than Leclerc. They have agreed with a driver like Hamilton who has 7 titles achieved of course. But I hope they don't regret to pay a huge sum to him later on. 

The problem in Verstappen's car was worrying as the car started to burn shortly. Thankfully the fire didn't get much bigger. By the way the race wasn't very fun but we stil saw a different podium of course. Now Ferrari is right behind Red Bull in constructor and driver standings both.

Uh no...  It's just the start of the season so let's stop the nonsense.  And if you look at the drivers' standings since Sainz transferred to Ferrari, Leclerc has out pointed Sainz two out of three seasons.  So saying that Ferrari give seat one to Sainz is lol and it would def be a cause for tension within the team.  As if there isn't enough tension already with Sainz given the boot in favor of Hamilton.  :/

Anyway can't wait for the next race in Suzuka.  That one is going to be good.
