Pay $13 000 to have a booth at CES and bring empty boxes. The only product BFL produces is trolling, they even hired a troll as PR.
I think empty boxes and faked demos are practically traditional at tradeshows like CES by now.

They're refunding anyone who asks...
No, they don't. They do not honor full BTC refunds.

If you mean that you paid 100btc 6 months ago and intend to receive 100btc today ... go astray, do not be a hustler.
No, I do not intend. I WANT! Because I've the right to receive the refund in the currency and amount I had originally paid!!!

BFL didn't ask me to pay US dollar, they asked me to pay BTC. I did what they ask me to do. I've send the EXACT amount BTC to the EXACT BTC address they specified.

edit:

Are you the Micon friend?

For info. I submitted request to US Securities and Exchanges Comission to verify are the BF Labs Inc actions are legit

My request ID is: TCR1357902718572

Another user PM'ed me he submitted another request, as Josh refused full BTC refund. His request id is TCR1358148611768.

BFL didn't ask me to pay US dollar

Sorry, they actually did. Their website shows US dollars on the home page. The order page doesn't even show a BTC amount immediately when you click BTC...there is no BTC sales price. The conversion is automatic and after you've picked what you want to order and agreed to the USD price.

At first the majority of the posts made with this account are concerned with ASICs

Bored engineering student, considering branching out into ASICs. Eventually.

in particular BFL

BFL has the most amusing trolls. bASIC is a mess right now, and there isn't much to post about with Avalon...although I'm annoyed that they abandoned their video demo promise, but they can still probably ship.

your being online to post ratio is incredible.

Thank you.

with an asic preorder

I haven't actually ordered yet. Will be doing so when I hear that the chips actually work, since there's an undeniable possibility that they might not.

higher than usual emotional attachment.

I mostly just post a lot when I think people are wrong.

Sorry, they don't. You wanted a screenshot that there is a BTC price on the ivoice I was presented during check out. I gave it to you. You wanted an explanation how paying in BTC is different to paying for instance with GBP. I have explained it to you. I don't see what else can I do for you? BFL cheerleaders have their own agenda and no arguments matter!

I do not care what BFL will do with the BTC after I've sent them. I've no control on that and certainly this is BFL's choice what % of the BTC they want converted in USD and what % of currency exchange risk they want to bear?

...but serial production without a prototype is not practiced anywhere in the electronics industry. Empty box only confirms they don't have chips in production.

You should probably contact your lawyer about that. And videotape the conversation.

I would pay good money to see that.

NO!!!
I did not use a service to transfer USD to BTC. BFL did use it! BitPay is doing currency conversion on behalf of BFL, not me! I don't have any contract with BitPay! BFL have! BFL have the FULL control what % of the BTC they want converted in USD!

Argumentation for BFL Lawyer will be simple:

This Address is certainly not ours..... sue Bitpay for your BTC?

Come on, no one can be that stupid not to know this beforehand ordering.  On their website you can preorder your  "CASE WITH FANS AND BOLTS" and choose to pay with BTC. All values are denominated in USD $ not BTC. You will be redirected to bitpay (escrow) and they'll recieve your BTC (NOT BFL). Bitpay is then sending fixed USD $ to BFL.

You choose this service, you accept their Agreement of Terms (AGB Allgemeine Geschäfts Bedungungen in german)....

Maybe you could argue that you are not responsible for your decisions because of ....?

I would advise to get your money out fast. Even if you get less BTC then you paid (meaning conversion from USD value "now" to BTC "now"). You should be able to sue them later for the rest .....

Exactly! They could have shown at least one working ASIC chip at CES. At least one single Jalapeno hashing ...

They didn't, which means they don't have a working prototype. Which means:
a) going into mass production without a working prototype is suicide.
or
b) they never intended to ship a product and it's all a scam.

Yes they could, at leas that would calm us "TROLLS" down somehow (a bit). Even if its not working at full potential. They could say "Not on its full potential ", "down clocked for Prototyping", "not final packaging", "clockbuffers need to be added (again)" and so forth....

I would be standing on the CES and screaming and dancing with nothing than ASIC as my clothes: SUCKAZ TOLD YOU SO AND YOU AINT GONNA GET ONE BECAUSE IM MAD !!!!!

BUT hey he has a case .....

Maybe they already ran last year and nobody told that "I'm not the PR" Guy

Wrong.
I do not have anything in common with BitPay. I was refered there by BFL as part of the check out process! BitPay is just a payment gateway used by BFL that can be setup in accordance with all merchant preferences.

What does BFL lawyer actually say is - "Don't ask our customers for the refund. Go to the credit card processor"... Laughable!

I am sure after reading these posts by BFL prototype will miraculously appears on BFL forum or Youtube and it will be a little more reliable than: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4wFkhafEdA&feature=youtu.be. They probably already starting to modify cgminer, to show phantom hashrate....Oh I forgot, it's unnecessary, they have FPGA Wink
It is also possible that the prototype is a business secret as most embarrassing questions asked by customers Wink

Does anyone have a picture of an opened single from CES?

I'm interested if these are also empty cases or mock ups like what was printed in Bitcoin magazine.

Regarding the "box of fans": if they have a single with full guts I don't see how them simply stating "This is our Larger model.  It has multiple copies of this little guy [point to single] plugged into a usb hub and this monitoring tablet [point to nexus] all in a neat little box." is a bad thing.

As I understand it BFL are making singles.
The rest of the product line are just variations where: they use less chips to make the mini single, they use even less chips(one?) and no heat sink for the jally and just plug together multiple singles to make the minirig.

As i said, the singles were shown in Bitcoin Magazine months ago.
I'm not under the impression they have ASIC chips [that work].
My question is wither or not the single/jally boxes at CES are equally empty.
