Hi,

I am having a hard time with my voltage setup on my second rig so any help would be great, I have the below setup.

Asrock H81 BTC Pro R2.0
6 x Sapphire RX480 Nitro+ 8GB
2 x EVGA 750 G2 PSU

All bios mods are running Ubermix 3.1 via PBE 1.6.4

It currently runs cards at 1100/2000 875/850 & a couple at 1050/2000 850/850

I am getting between 29.2MH/s & 29.5MH/s per card total of 175.5MH/s for entire rig.

Running WIN10PROx64, Claymore 10.1, using DAGFIX drivers mining ETH only, but it is pulling over 900w at the wall, using Wattman to control speeds etc. (Temps range from 57-62)

My rigs run relatively quiet, due to their locations, quiet enough the wife is happy to have them in the room and quiet enough you can hold a conversation next to them (Saves me having to turn on the heating)

I had this running at just under 800w a few weeks ago, but unable to reproduce how I did this, so any help would be great

Managed to reset everything and start again, now pulling 840w-845w.  alot better than the 960w it was pulling. And managed to squeeze out another 1MH/s and lower temps a degree or 2

Is the performance of mining with claymore on ATI graphic cards comparable to sgminer?

Hello,
I was mining with claymore 9.8 & 1 card NVIDIA 1060 and I did some OC with msi afterburner, I was getting BSOD & freezing on windows 2-3 times a day, recently I had bought 2 XFX 580 4G & start mining with Claymore 10.2 using the command -tt 69,69,0(0 for NVIDIA), I lowered the OC of the gtx 1060 but i was still getting freezing in windows but no more BSOD, until yesterday the rig mined all the night without any problem then in the day the rig crashed on windows and the fan of the cards stopped and i smelled burning smell coming out from one of the XFX 580, i restarted the pc & I found that the card can be detected with gpu-z but when i start Claymore i got BSOD so the card is dead, now i am afraid that the same think will happen to the other cards, so I am looking for help to avoid that problem will happen again.
i was using "-dcri 30,30,38 -ftime 10 -cclock 1100,1100,0 -mclock 2045,2035,0 -cvddc 900,900,0 -mvddc 900,900,0 -tt 69,69,0" i got eth +decri 29,29,21 & 875,875,274.

Try to lower your clocks, and adjust your -tt to at least 75, are you using risers? the burn smell could be your riser as the AMD rx580 is a power hungry unlike the GTX, check your cables from riser to PSU, probably there burnt connectors out there.

Hi all!

I recently had an issue with my miner and fixed it so I wanted to share the steps I took. We had a slight snow storm and power was going on and off so I shut down my computer. Later when I turned it on Claymore's miner would just crash due to a Watchdog error. Then my screen started looking funny (some pixels and different task bar colors).

Here;s my setup:
4x RX 480 8GB
32GB DDR3
2TB HDD
AMD ATHLON IIx4 630 CPU
MSI 970A-G43 MOBO

I unplugged everything and did a hard power reset. I unplugged EVERYTHING! Drives, power, wall motherboard, psu. I plugged everything back in and turned the computer on. One card was no longer showing up. So I took all but one card out and started testing them all on one pcie riser. Every card worked.
Same test, next riser. They all worked.
Same test, next riser. They all worked.
Same test, last riser. None of them worked.

Ok so I thought maybe a riser went bad. Luckily I have a few spares so I plugged a new one in and same result. Nothing worked.
It must be a power issue then, I thought.

So I started swapping the lines to power each graphics card while they were on risers I knew worked.
All the GPU power lines were fine.
So then I started swapping the riser power lines and low and behold: one power line, from the psu to the riser was bad.
I connected them all back up and it works fine now.

I think during the power outages there was a surge through a line causing it to no longer work.

Hope this helps someone out there.

I did test the riser it works fine, the card tested with no OC same problem.

Hows your device manager settings? are they in normal without any errors? I would suggest to do the test one by one, exclude nvidia first and let the AMD to be installed and do the mining. this is to isolate what may be the culprits. riser may look fine but in a while they seem to be faulty try to replace them if you have any extras.

Hello,

I have huge loadavg when mining in Linux on a 13 gpu rig (Asrock H110+, 13xGTX1060). The load starts at 3-4 then goes up to 150-160 in a matter of couple of hours. Then the rig locks up and I need a hard reset.

When mining with lower intensities around 1-2 the load is lower but the hashrate takes a big hit.

What can I do ? Currently it's not usable.

thanks.

Hey guys, need an answer ASAP as I'm rushing to buy cards.
Is this card OK, how much can be pushed? What memo does it have?
Thanks.

Not sure what happened overnight, but woke up to the rig going nuts, pulling 1150w, killed miner and restarted, now pulling 765w - 770w WTF?

After a reboot its now pulling 900w - 920w erratically.

Anyone have any ideas?? its getting frustrating, it can run for weeks stable as hell and poof overnight, no changes it just decides to throw a wobbly.

My 7x RX470 rig has been running for months no issues (fingers crossed), so solid. But the RX480 rig, same OS, same CM, Same Drivers, Same PSU's etc does not.

an updated version for Nvidia cards speed up would be very good Smiley I believe GTX1070 and 1070ti has more room.

Note: do not use AB.
Thank you very much for writing such a good faq. But can you please explain why using AB is bad idea? Is he bad at OC or there is some problems, releated to mining?

it is way too persistent with it's own settings and may create some conflicts with win/drivers.
also it is too general and you cannot get the best possible performance

Hi,

i have few cards AMD RX580 with older crimson driver for windows -tstop 85 -tt 65 -fanmin 65 -fanmax 100 -cclock 1130 -mclock 2150 -cvddc 850 -mvddc 850 -dcri 18 works sometimes and sometimes not, depend on the driver, older driver works 100%

now the latest driver Adrenaline does not work at all.

any way to enable claymore set voltage for windows and clock settings? because everytime oc reboot it looses the amd setting i define in the profile.

which driver do you recommend to do voltage control and clock control under windows?

Thanks.

Using 17.11.1 (Nov 2) and Claymore OC works with it.

Hello, could you help me with an issue please?

My video card is a R390X.

Today I'd plugged in an old card (4870) just to see if it still worked. Then I took it out and also re-installed the Radeon software. But after I'd turned on the miner again, it no longer outputs the purple text strings with the temperature and fan speed of my card.

It still recognizes the R390X and mines normally, but this lack of information on temp is making me nervous.
