Hi, I use 8x 470 Sapphire Mining Special Version, sometimes it says wattman experienced crashes on startup. also just after showin 8 cards in mine app and stating SOLO ... it just stays there and doesnt go further to mining section, i do restart and it fixes, but this time it doesnt. im trying to reinstal blockchain amd drivers, is there any advice? Win 10 64 bit, claymore dual - 10.2
Afterburner settings - power limit 0
core clock - 1236
mem clock 1995
52 C temp under load and radiating well. 201 mh and effective 180 mh...

It has resurfaced and my miner always hangs as soon as the mining starts and have to do manual reboot

It's hardware-related issue, drivers report wrong temperature, usually it means that this GPU is not stable. Check its riser, OC, PSU.

This appeared only for 10.2. I've never seen it on older versions on the exact same OS, drivers, updates, OC.
So it's something with this 10.2...

So v10.1 could not restart due to ADL API problems, watchdog did not check it. Moreover, both watchdog and temperature control works in same thread in v10.1 so if ADL hangs, watchdog hangs too and fails to restart miner even if some GPU fails after it. It was fixed in v10.2, now temperature control works in separate thread.
If you think that watchdog works incorrectly, you can PM me the log file and I will check it.

Now that rig has been upgraded to Win 1709, ADM 17.1.4.
If this will appear again I will PM you with complete logs.

It appears my upgrade of FCU (1709) went crazy and I can't access the start meniu...
I tried everything.. no solution.
I reverted to 1703 and beta Radeon drivers.

With this and the OC from 10.2 it kept crashing. After reboot, even if the OC apparently was applied, only 1 of the 4 cards worked at full speed (the one with the monitor in it). Meaning first card worked at 30Mh/s, rest of 3 at 25Mh/s.
So I had to go back to using MSI AB, unfortunately.
It applies the OC correctly. Let's see if it's stable.

now it works fine each card gives 25 mh except GPU 2 which gives 22 mh! is it normal? i always have 25 but today...

4. Install ADL_SDK version 10.2


What do I do?
after installing the amdgpu-pro, ADL, APP, path you need somewhere to draw?

APP_SDK and ADL_SDK are not useful

the kernel 4.4.11 is different from mine (I have latest on 16.04 LTS, the 4.10....).
Note I got ther just by making apt-get dist-upgrade and update  (and all possible update/upgrade)

check that when installing amdgpu-pro the dpkg compile phase does not end with an error (check the logs they name... eg, amdgpupro refused to compile with the 4.11 linux headers provided by ROCm)
If desperate, try to install ROCm
https://github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/ROCm
and afterward install amdgpu-pro for the OpenCL implementation (claymore don't use ROCm opencl implementation)

don't forget the large page options in grup config file... as said in the documentation,

I have a 7 GPU rig made up of (5) GTX 1060's and (2) RX470's.  My RX470's are giving me very low hashrates.  They fluctuate between 12 mh/s and 18 mh/s.  Here is my configuration.  Any thoughts?

Did you define manually the Ethereum and Siacoin mining intensity?
GTX1060 can withstand -dcri (Siacoin) up to 40-50 without significant drop in hashrate, while RX470 start to hash ETH slower beginning with -dcri 20-25. Maybe your miner has set automatically a 40-45 intensity, that keeps down ETH hashrate on RX470.
I suggest you to run 2 Claymore instances: one for GTX1060, another for RX470 and adjust Siacoin intensity. Define -di (GPU index) for each instance.

Is it possible to select DAG epoch # that will be selected for mining? When miner selects epoch #155 my GTX970 is running 9.5Mh ether and 95Mh Sia. When miner selects epoch #5 numbers are much better - 23Mh ether and 225 Mh Sia
What exactly is this epoch # ? I have found that in the recent miner version it can be up to epoch #299 but I can't understand how to get benefit from it.

Note I got ther just by making apt-get dist-upgrade and update  (and all possible update/upgrade)

check that when installing amdgpu-pro the dpkg compile phase does not end with an error (check the logs they name... eg, amdgpupro refused to compile with the 4.11 linux headers provided by ROCm)

It turns out that you need to install only amdgpupro and write GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="amdgpu.vm_fragment_size=9" in GRUB?

ROCm is also not necessary!?

There is a search bar in the upper right hand corner of the forum. Use it, it's there for a reason.
The miners include a README file that includes setup instructions and configuration options. As the file name implies, read them carefully. This isn't rocket science, I'm sure you can do it!
