That third board is totally misreporting the hashrate.  I would reboot it.  But I should also point out that you are pushing higher temps than most people are comfortable with.  I usually try to keep the boards under 70 and the chips under 100.

I would guess that since it is showing correct hashrate on the pool and since the GH/S(avg) number looks normal it is actually hashing normally and the glitch is just on the reporting side of things.

Not.You, thanks for the reply. I usually try for those exact numbers you mentioned....<70 and 100. It sounds like ill have to take any information on the dashboard with a grain of salt. Could you also tell me what the HW represents.
Thanks again,
MM

HW is hardware errors.  You want it as low as possible.  Generally speaking the higher the freq the worse the hardware errors but different miners seem to have different tolerances.  The S9's seem to have very low HW overall compared to previous generation miners although they also seem like the vast majority of the hardware errors come from a single board.  My S9's are usually between .0001 and .0004%.  With my S7's and S5's I usually tried to overclock to the maximum I could get while keeping HW under .01%.  With the S9's the obstacle to overclocking isn't HW it's temp.

Hi All,
Got a question about HW for my S9. What does the "HW" mean? One of my miners was running unusually warm compared to the other miners in my warehouse. It normally doesn't run this warm, it just happens to be a hot day. The interface says the hashrate is something crazy ( 290,814.7 GH/S) and the HW is virtually nill compared to my other miners. Strangely enough, on F2 Pool the hashrate looks normal.

Here's a link to the screenshot.

http://www.mediafire.com/view/splg4wb1q6e96m8/s9-creen2.jpg

Can anyone offer some suggestions on what might be happening here. Much appreciated. Thanks,

MM

dang those temps are HIGH. u should get them lowered asap to avoid your miner failing....even if that means underclocking it.

I woke up this morning and all of my S9's had nothing but xxxxxx on all hash boards. After rebooting them, they came back which is good. Anyone else experience this before? I thought it was odd that it only happened to my S9's and not my two S7-LN.

Out of my 6 s9's I've had something similar happen only once and was 2 weeks ago on a batch-3 I have at home. It's batch 1 brother next to it -- humming along just fine. Both are powered through always-on-line UPS's from Cyberpower so was not a power glitch, temps in my basement were around 80F so not unreasonable.

It was unresponsive to the GUI so don't know how the xxx's & 000's looked. Just cycled power and it has been running perfectly again ever since. Most odd.

yeah the s-9 is a bit flakey compared to s-7 or s-5.

I have 2 confirmed dead boards  out of 18 boards six miners.

I have clock all gear to 506-525  and I am running all gear at temps of 60-90

I finally am back to stable.   and I will run on a downclock  from now until the cooler weather comes

What do you think about this deal on ebay?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BITMAIN-ASIC-Antminer-S9-Batch-1-16nm-14-TH-s-0-1-J-GHs-Free-Shipping-/291859832284?hash=item43f4339ddc:g:DicAAOSwnFZXWt78&autorefresh=true

Please note that I'm not asking opinions about trusting this guy because I'll definitely not trust. I'll be in China next week anyway and I already arranged a meeting to see the miners in Guangzhou before I send any payment. The seller didn't raise any objection to it and he was actually very friendly and open to the idea.

So considering the seller is legit is it a good deal?

4 used s9's for 8 btc? 2 btc per miner or even lower if I negotiate a larger order. For 4 packs of 4 the last quote he gave me was 30 btc.

I don't mine for a long time due to electricity cost in my country so I don't even know what to look for but I'll meet a chinese friend there that will be my partner if I choose to proceed with this.

My friend will see the miners with me and if we buy them he'll setup the miners and run them in China.

The thing is I'll have to pay the most of this 30+ btc because he hasn't much spare capital. I'll be the one exposed to the most risk if the miners fail or don't ROI or...

What's your advice? I know there's always a risk involved and I accept that. But looking at the whole picture what does your gut tell you?

Shoot, that's an interesting deal. I'm assuming the operation only keeps the miners for the duration of the warranty period and then they sell them off?

2btc for a S9... Dang...

It's too good to be true and involves paying BTC to a stranger. Do you really need someone else's gut here?  Grin

Just don't. Buy for ~2.5 BTC from Bitmain if you must or just HODL.

Paying to a stranger will be no problem here as I wouldn't pay anything before seeing the miners.

Do you really think it's too good to be true?

I've been reading all S9 threads and they don't seem very reliable. That's my main fear.

I'm less inclined to follow with this deal but not for being too good to be true.

I could pay with paypal but I would have to pay the fees.

As I said I'm not worried about payment protection as I won't pay upfront.

Do you think they will ship without you paying first?

There are many other red flags in that listing, I wouldn't touch it even if paying by PayPal, especially after it's been bid up to $1575 last time I looked.

Location - London, I doubt any mining farm could be located there
Delivery - by mid-October (at least to the US, not sure of other locations)
Stock photo
30%+ discount for no reason (there is no newer hardware to upgrade to)

That's just from memory, too lazy to open that link again.
