IMHO I am waiting for the halving before shelling out for a rack of these machines, It seems a waste spending 3btc on a item that is immediately going to half in productivity in less than 2 weeks.
After the halving tho, I will be interested in selling off the 12+ S7's and upgrading to all S9's. I would keep buying S7's but I am going to soon run out of power lol

I'm in a high power cost area. After halving (less than 10 days and counting) my S7 goes from profitable to money loser. So easy decision.

Yes I am really hoping that they adjust their prices after the halving. They haven't adjusted the prices for their older S7 and S7-LN in a while which really surprises me.

Yes I am really hoping that they adjust their prices after the halving. They haven't adjusted the prices for their older S7 and S7-LN in a while which really surprises me. It makes sense for them, there's no other big company that makes miners this efficient nowadays, so they can let prices stagnate for a while. You're kind of forced to buy these, so bitmain's simply racking up those dollars. They've adjusted their prices a lot recently, so as not to be in competition with avalon, but now that they've not released anything, along with Bitfury, they can let these prices stay. I'm assuming they're going to drop the price after halving.

My expectations after halving -- are that they'll try for $1,800 -- and if demand is still there, it will stay close to there for a long while. On an other unfortunate note -- I got the dreaded email from DHL... EVENT CATEGORY 30 Jun 16 6:59 AM - Clearance delay - SHENZHEN,CHINA, PEOPLES REPUBLIC
Further Details - Shipment is held pending clarification of goods valuation Next Steps - A DHL representative shall attempt to contact the importer for further clarification or proof of valuation if required by Customs. I guess that I was forewarned -- probably won't know until tomorrow...

Yes I am really hoping that they adjust their prices after the halving. They haven't adjusted the prices for their older S7 and S7-LN in a while which really surprises me. As long as Bitmain sells every one of the miners they make they can charge as much as they want. Free market capitalism at it's best. Think about how fast each batch of the S9 miners has "sold out." Would you lower your prices if you were selling everything you made? Probably not, and you might even raise your prices to see how much more you could make. Oh, sure, some of the people buying the miners will complain about the price, but at the end of the day they still sent the BTC or used a credit card to buy them. If/when another company selling equivalently powerful miners arrives on the scene is likely when you will see prices moderate. Cheers, - zed

This is SOP for UPS. It arrives and departs Shenzhen at least twice, often more. Probably just being transferred back and forth to customs within the same facility. We should know more in the AM. But Friday is starting to look doubtful.

I had nothing but trouble with the new firmware 24th June 2016, so I reverted back to the original firmware 8th June 2016 Board 1 ran with a low hash rate, ~2-3Th/s. Back to the original firmware and everything is normal.
I have S9 batch 2. I'm mining at Kano CKPool.

Got my 2 s9s today, but one is not working Cannot find a manual on the website, was trying to do a factory reset so I can make sure it is defective. Came on for 15 minutes, then went offline. Temperature was fine, now just a flashing FAULT light. Does anyone know how to do a reset on this model so I can try this before requesting a RMA? Thanks in advance. Hi Incanus,
Thanks for choosing Bitmain.
Please inform us details of your issue at support.bitmain.com and one of our customer support reps will be happy to resolve your issue ASAP.
We wish you a happy mining experience,
the Bitmain teamStatus update: After 5 days of talking with Quentin via email we are no closer to a solution. The day I posted here, I went to Bitmain's website and read that for people who can repair their own machines, they can order parts. The BB board listed said to state what model you are repairing as it needs to be programmed correctly, so I placed an order for an 1/0 and a BB board, seeing that S9 wasn't listed on the parts, but that they still haven't put the manual for the S9 up either, so I figured they had not updated the website. I stated CLEARLY on the order that I needed S9 parts, that I had a defective S9 and that once I was able to determine which board was bad, or both for that matter, I would request a RMA and return it for a replacement, keeping whatever returned as a spare part. Makes sense from my end as I lose more money being offline than the cost of the parts. I get a order confirmation and it is sent out and then I get a message from Quentin that they don't have S9 parts for sale. SO what is on the way to me, I still have not gotten an answer, I cannot give a screenshot as it doesn't even appear on my network (so there is nothing to navigate to) NOW my new batch 3 miner is down. Out of 3 I have only 1 working. One of the hashcards is not working and I have uploaded a screenshot of it, but we are now at 5 days and Quentin doesn't seem to understand what is going on. HELP. Do I take delivery and see if the parts are right? He will not answer me. Status update: Over 13 days now and no end in sight. On the plus side, one miner seemed to have a short in the control board due to it not being seated in the chassis properly, it is now up and running. But the original problem miner has a bad control board and I have been waiting 3 days for a reply about replacing it. Anyone else have problems with customer service from Quentin? Since I told them it was the control board, don't you think that 13 days is a bit long to figure that out on Bitmain's end? It really makes me reconsider doing any further business with them. I was even willing to PAY for parts instead of going thru this warranty bull, because I knew it would get me up faster and not cost me lost income from having a paperweight on my bench.

I tried the new firmware too and saw no improvement for my B3. However, I took the plunge and installed the low voltage firmware and it helped. I was getting about 12.6 total hashrate at 587 Freq. I have one board which just doesn't get up to speed a lot of the time so underclocking it helps. At 587 I was getting 4150, 4200, 4200 roughly from the boards. With the low voltage firmware I am running at freq 600 and getting 4150, 4300, 4300 so an improvement of 200 Gh/s (like adding an S1 for free). Fewer HW errors too. Meanwhile my batch 4 may have skipped the clearing agency phase; I have never seen that before. Last notes are an export scan and then a departure scan. Usually wouldn't see an export scan until after the clearing agency step and that step never happened (or at least it was never noted on the tracking page if it did).

Looks like we both have the same time on almost all of our scans too. There is usually another clearing agency notification in Alaska. That one usually just goes by quickly without any issues, now I wonder if that one is to catch packages that didn't get it done at the point of origin. Or like I said, maybe they just didn't update it in the tracking but it still happened as usual.
