Question about customs...

I am in Canada / Quebec

What kind of customs do you guys pay ?

I was told that things coming from China normally doesn't have customs to pay on it...
But I had to pay around 800$ CAD to UPS for customs.
(3 Machines 3 PSU's)

Does that make sense ?

I had to pay almost £500 for two s9's.
And ups driver was dickhead .....

How much is the Customs cost  For one s9 coming into USA...   Cheaper to buy in bulk?  I'm looking to purchase multiple but if i can skip the customs and buy in US and pay inflated price i'll just do that ...

In the USA no customs until you hit $2500 I believe.  Members have ordered miners 1 at a time and mostly kept under the radar, though one had FedEx add together two shipments that arrived separately about a week apart and still charged him!

This might be a stupid question, but, just hooked up 4 new S9, and i cant see any hashboards on any of them on the miner status page.

I havent used s9 since batch 1, is this a normal problem? Surely not all 4 are DOA?

They are powered by evga 1600 g2 and bitmain psu's.

Any idea whats going on here?

I hope you already found your answer and that your babies are hashing away.
In my case, the status page doesn't show me nothing until the machine ran and hashed for about 10 minutes.
Before that, I get no information on the page. I hope it's the case for you.
Just configure them to hash to your pool and be patient. As long as the fans are blowing a ton of hot air, they should be working

When I wrote this post they had been running for 33 minutes, after about 45 minutes they showed up in the status page, super weird, the S9 Batch 1 was not like this!
I notice I cant change fan speed or clockrate (I'm not going to change the clockrate), but fan speed would be nice tbh. I guess they removed that option.

Overall it seems more responsive than batch 1 tho, so I'll give them points for that

It looks like they sent me PSU right now.. 21-30 December time.. They are pretty darn fast, hopefully they ship miner soon as well, and we can start coooooking

Those initial minutes is probably the autotune, and that is also why you can't change anything

Does anyone know when sending S9's to the us facility can you just ship a bunch in two boxes and put the same repair tickets in them verse making a bunch of repair tickets?

customs fees come after u cross $2500 in value. 1 miner wont cross that point. once you hit 2500 you will be charged a minimum of $32. the actual fee is only a couple bucks if i remember correctly but ups and fedex charge crazy minimums and brokerage fees which is why its a flat $32.

nvm slush is loadin again. antpools url is dead my miners say bur on the pools site is shows the hashrate going up at the same time my miners say the pool is dead. weird. they still havent paid my namecoins for the past 2 months about and each reply i get says they will happen tomorrow....but they never do.

What pool is everyone using to mine?  I was previously using Eligius, but recently switched to Slush's pool.   I just want to make sure Im maximizing the returns I can get for my hashpower.

I had a couple of miners delivered by UPS individually, and they required me to pay with a check for the duties and taxes, however what I found out on all of my later shipments was if I picked the Miners and power supplies up from the UPS facility I was not charged at all - They just gave me the package, had me sign and I walked out without needing to pay at all.  It has worked out for my last 10 shipments.  

A quick 15-minute drive to save 100s of dollars on duties and taxes!
