Right now it looks impossible. If zcash cant do it with all its backing and tech advancement, i think u will need to create a new category of product to replace it. Something that solve all the same problem and many others new problems that we dont see now.
Nothing will go over Bitcoin because everybody trusts Bitcoin the most, and also because it's being used for eight years already which is a lot. It became popular in some countries while in some (like mine) pretty much nobody uses it.

Maybe not in the crypto world, but in countless other things. Do you know Altavista? It was the first big search engine and only lasted for 8 years before yahoo bought it and shut down 10 years after that. Today everybody uses google and nobody remembers a time before google.

bitcoin would be never replace by another crypto currency because bitcoin getting too much power and bitcoin adopting is very much high and we know that bitcoin increase its price too much faster than other currency.
It is well known the potential of Bitcoin, but no matter how popular it is, it will not stop other technologies from appearing. But since Bitcoin continues with a good team of developers, there is no reason to worry, because in most cases the altcoins have improvements that can be implemented in Bitcoin. The problem is that it is not very easy to reach consensus on the network for this to happen. Basically everything that altcoins have as flashy features can be implemented in Bitcoin as well, but there is absolutely no need for that as Bitcoin is working very well. The only thing people think could be better are the confirmation times. I can't really blame them for that as I understand that it can be annoying when you have to wait an hour to even get 1 confirmation in some cases. That's why larger blocks for now is the only thing that I see as a necessary update. The devil is in the detail (as always) There is no doubt that these impressive features can be implemented in Bitcoin too (provided it makes sense to implement them at all in the first place, of course), but so far Bitcoin cannot be even successfully updated to just cope with the growth in adoption. In other words, no one talks about making a huge jump ahead, it is more about taking a small evolutionary step to just live up to already existing requirements, as you yourself say. But even in that Bitcoin is failing, to our regret

It might happen, but its very unlikely. Since Bitcoin was created, many alts (altcoins) have come up. Only Litecoin, Peercoin and Dogecoin among them gained any real success. However replacement of bitcoins by altcoins is very unlikely. This is because of the many advantages that bitcoin has over other alts. Since almost everyone who finds out about cryptocurrency only really knows about Bitcoin, that’s the one they’re going to buy and try to incorporate it into their daily lives. Also, Bitcoin already has the largest community, most of which, of course comes from BitcoinTalk Bitcoin also has a higher value and is nowadays increasing in price very steadily, so there are very less chances of any price dumps. Moreover, bitcoin has caught the trust of more people, so less are likely to shift to a new currency. Transactions are faster in bitcoin, and there are many ways to earn, spend, invest and get profits from bitcoins, which isnt possible much for altcoins

Of course, there is no cyptocurrency that will replace bitcoin. I don't want it to happen because I already believe of its power. I am almost contented using its benefits that others cannot. We would still count more years having bitcoin and let us to make real money online.

We should not be assure of this thing that bitcoin cant be replaced since not all things on this world last forever or permanent and time would really come that bitcoin could be replaced by another cryptocurrency, possibilities are always there but same as your i do strongly believe on bitcoin.

Yeah, nothing is permanent similar to that quoted by the above mate, but with bitcoin i believe it lasts forever. By situation bitcoin might fall due to technologies overcoming bitcoin, but in some other name bitcoin once again emerges for the next phase of growth.

If the question would be: will Fords Model T be replaces with another car? Then the answer "no, because the technology might evolve and the name may change, but Fords Model T will rise from the ashes" is a answer that makes not much sense to me.

We all know that the bitcoin is the leader of crypto-currencies. But also the leader at a point either he dies or he will be replaced by someone else. The problem is bitcoin needs any improvement? Definitely yes. Even his creator would admits that. The question is whether it can. If there is not any improvement people boost it to the sky people drop it down to earth.

Storage services like Storj, Maid, MegaUpload 2.0 and vTorrent altcoins and services that will strengthen Bitcoin even further.
Altcoins wanting to replace Bitcoin need to attract these type of coins to provide similar services.
Bitcoin has a strong ecosystem supporting it and trying to leverage off it.

that's true, so far i cannot see there is a big merchant like megaupload accept altcoin with this proof i guess it's enough to show how far away any coin could replace bitcoin it could be but not soon at least, required a lot of times to make it heppen.

So it's weakness of bitcoin? And altcoin will need attracting them to building the strong ecosystem like bitcoin? Seems like the key wasn't holding by the bitcoin itself.

It's a weakness of altcoins that want to take over from Bitcoin. Every exchange uses Bitcoin as the exchange currency. That keeps the volume of BTC high. So altcoins support Bitcoin. If you are an altcoin, you need to find a way to get other altcoins to support you.

Bitcoin has an advantage because it was the first. It remains the most recognized and accepted cryptocurrency so I don't think it will be replaced but I think some others will also be successful.

I am not sure of it. bitcoin is currently still the best coins of all existing cryptocurrency. no single coin that could rival bitcoin, even, bitcoin being a role model and the rest for other altcoin. I feel that it will remain in a very long time. because at the moment I do not see any potential altcoin can replace bitcoin.

Yeah, for now bitcoin is the most dominant currency in the crypto. When the value increase, altcoins are affected, but we cannot guarantee that it will last forever, it still depend on the users if they continue to patronize the use of bitcoin and if now, we will witness another big dump and that might not make bitcoin recover anymore.

Absolutely. Let us assume that 1% of the world is using crypto currencies. And of these 95% are using Bitcoin. So Bitcoin is dominant right know, but if the other 99% of the world start using crypto currencies and decide to go with GovCoin then nobody will even talk about Bitcoin anymore.

Remember, nothing can be flawless and change is the only constant in this world. So bitcoin can be replaced by another crypto currency in any time in future. But I don't see that is happening anything soon. Being a pioneer in the crypto currency world, bitcoin has a major share of the market cap in crypto currency world.
It may be possible only after 2023 when the bitcoin blocks will be exhausted and no new bitcoins can be mined. Then people will look for alternatives. To invest money and to get return like they got in bitcoins. That could be ETH or anything else. But replacement will be found.
