StewieG, I am not going to read all your posts, but the guy I am referring to simply bought user created assets which were marked as "non certified" and also showed a warning like this: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Ffs5.directupload.net%2Fimages%2F170507%2F67sew3l2.jpg&t=663&c=OcjO5jneCa-0cw) Obviously there are a lot of people in the crypto world just throwing their money blindly around and then start crying if it does not work out. If you do not understand it, read + understand - if you still do not understand simply get your hands out of it (this also applies for real life). This feels like Kindergarten somehow.... Unverified asset??? Why not call it a scam? People have already lost bitcoin. When the exchange merely says "unverified asset" people might think it could be ok. Why don't the developers clearly point out that this asset is not real? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) ?? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) If you can't remove the asset then put a proper warning on it. Don't just use the ambiguous term "unverified asset" They have stated it before that they can remove the asset market. My guess why they are not doing it is out of pure selfish marketing reasons. It wouldn't look that nice if they would write scam instead of unverified asset. Also they will not inform people that the asset do not exist because it might wouldn't attract more people. They rely on the stupidity of others. Read the first version of the whitepaper and you know what I mean. The reality what heat is and what the heatheads want people to think it is are 2 different things. I have watched their behavior for a long time now and can conclude that they do not most times explicitly lie(yes they have also clearly lied and it has been proven), but they phrase their words in such a way that people expect more than they will get. They are marketing guys. For example when they said they "tested" 1000tps before, they started the ico. it would give you the picture of hey they tested it, so the coin must be ready or close to ready. But what they actually did was just to test if their hardware could verify 1000tps without having a blockchain, so without a network and the coin was not close to finish. So did they lie? Technically no, but everyone would agree that doing this is absolutely 100% fraud! They have shown the exact behavior countless times on many topics! If you have been following this scam for its whole existence, you would know like me that this is so unfucking believable what they are doing and everybody supporting and defending this coin is guilty of luring others into a 100% scam coin! Nobody with a clear conscience can honestly defend this kind of behavior seen by the heatheads. I am absolutely sure that what they are doing is punishable under law and that these greedy, ruthless, money stealing assholes belong in jail! #LockEmUp! [/b]

HEAT getting more traction! Newcomers I recommend do not engage with bitter toxic trolls. Instead just use ignore-button. I have had nothing but good investing experience and user experience with HEAT.
For example if I compare this to early stages of NXT back in late 2013 early 2014 there was way more bumps on the road with NXT and look at NXT/ARDR now. NXT had multiple forks and problems, exchange scams/steals and numerous scammy assets (which it still has because it is decentralised) and people losing their money if they did not do their homework. So just be patient. This is long term investment for a year+ time with some good short-midterm revenues with pos-staking.
HEAT is legit and I do not need big coloured letters to make my point.

Here is how to set up a node. http://heatnodes.org/?p=1I use a cheap laptop (64-bit windows cuz 64-bit java required) to run a server and works fine.

Yes, from op: you may download the wallet here https://github.com/Heat-Ledger-Ltd/heatwallet/releasesand just run it locally, it's the easiest way imo. THere's a "start forging" buttion in the client. You must have some heat balance with minimum 1440 confirmations on it afaik to start forging Other option is to set up the VPS as instructed here http://heatnodes.org/?p=1 But I prefer local wallet

The answer is simple! There are no legit trading pairs on the HEAT exchange, they are all scams! If you thought "but what about HEAT/BTC?", NO, the biggest scam coin on there is HEAT itself. Just in case you can't conclude and ask again... NO IT IS NOT LEGIT! NOTHING ABOUT THIS HEAT-TRASH IS LEGIT!

As far as I can see the whole asset to asset exchange is complete shit! You can create an exchange in ETH and can trade coins that everyone can create. Now you say in order to "register" on the exchange you have to pay 10 ETH to the exchange. Where is the difference between this exchange and the crappy heat exchange? Yeah there is none. Also eth looks far more promising to reach 1000tps anytime soon while heat is realizing that their solution is shit and will never work. Eth is open source, heat is closed source. Heat is absolutely nothing revolutionary at all. It is only a big fat marketing scam with lots of broken promises. Eth is the future and heat is a pile of horseshit nobody cares about except some degenerate fools in a slack circlejerking each other. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) #gross #sad #heat

Unless you don't complain somewhere like here or there: https://www.reddit.com/r/HeatLedgerIsAScam/ you will not get your coins back. It is absolutely necessary that you first insult them or they will not give a shit about your withdrawal. You are not the first one. Yes they promised they would process withdrawals within 24hours but just like other promises they made, they will break them like they did before.
