Hi all.

I'm KIDC. I'm primarily interested in the mining aspect of bitcoin, and have been mining constantly using 2-3 GPUs since May 2011. I'm currently about to receive my first BFL Single and am in the process of ramping up my operations using FPGAs.

I originally got involved with bitcoin mining by hearing about it from a friend. I'd heard of bitcoin before but not understood what it really was or how it worked. After quite some reading and research I'd like to think I have a good basic understanding of bitcoin and bitcoin mining. I used to be a hardcore gamer and happened to have a heavily overclocked 5850 with a solid aftermarket heatsink ready to go, and that's how I made my first money mining. I'm currently running the 5850 and 7970 each in their own dedicated boxes. I have a 6970 in my main system, but I don't usually run that as a miner anymore because it gets too hot in my room. I'm looking at setting up an array of 6 BFL Singles (hopefully more over time and even a Mini Rig Box eventually) with an old XP Pro laptop that only consumes 10 watts when the screen is off. This should be a high profitability setup. I'd love to make bitcoin mining my sole occupation but that's a dream at this point. I enjoy doing it just as a hobby, although I will be eventually making a little extra money eventually once the Singles have broke even (hopefully).

I've been lurking for a bit but not decided to register until today, since I'm making bitcoin a bigger part of my life and I'd like to get involved with the rest of the community. I'd also like to look at alternatives to the major exchanges such as MtGox (all I've used so far) such as Bitcoin-OTC, but I'm not sure how to go about that yet. Hopefully I can also help some others here on the forums in exchange for people helping me.  Smiley

Hello, lurked a while, regged a few months ago, finally saying Hi.

Reason I came to post was because anonibet.com seems to be having an issue with their deposit page.  Was wondering if anyone else was having issues with anonibet tonight.

Saw bitcoins as a way to learn about arbitrage and trading with a small initial investment. Found out I was too late to the game, so now it's just a hobby.

Hi everybody, I'm Pete,

I only found out about the existence of Bitcoin about 3 weeks ago and it intrigued me immensely:) I got instantly interested in mining and now I'm running 2 rigs:
-- Rig 1 is a "proper" one with a 4xlong PCIe mobo (Gigabyte X58, Xeon 5504) with 5970, 8570 and 2x 5850
-- Rig 2 was put together from leftover hw, it's got a 5850 on-board an 5830 hanging out of the minitower case on a 2x PCIe extension Smiley
I'm running BAMT with Phoenix 2. The two rigs are crunching 2.5 GH/s.

Cheers
Pete

hello. i first heard of bitcoin about three years ago, but it didn't pique my interest at the time, for some reason. i've had a few lower-to-mid level gfx cards mining for a number of months now. i've lurked in the forums on occasion, and registered because i was having a problem with the latest version of diablominer. just biding time until i can report what i've seen in the appropriate thread.

I believe the image was snagged from http://pvcdrom.pveducation.org/DESIGN/SURFTEXT.HTM.

It's a "scanning electron microscope photograph of a textured silicon surface."

Hi.  I've been lurking for a while, but have only recently created an account.

When I first learned about bitcoin a year or so ago, I dismissed it as a fad  and wasn't really interested in messing with it.

However, it came back to my attention recently, and after having read more about, and giving it a great deal of additional thought, I'm now a convert.

Or, as they say...

"Hi, my name is Bill, and I'm an addi^H^H^H^H^H^H bitcoin enthusiast."

This is degrading. How many times do I have to do this before I can sit at the big-kids table?

Hello I'm Butense
I'm an observer of the bitcoin scene for sometime and thought that it was time to join these forums.I'm an IT technician who wishes to add bitcoin to my workplace as well as startup a business selling computers in my country.I've had many successful trades outside the bitcoin community when it came to the computer clinic (helping people form all backgrounds get started with the computer world for those who want to do more than browse the web and word processing) before I closed it down and decided into looking into setting out another business.
