Howdy - my name is Pete and I call the 'shire (New Hampshire) home because I'm a big advocate of self-government and this place seems to have the most potential for that happening.

I say that after criss-crossing the united states a couple of times through projects like Motorhome Diaries (MHD) and Liberty On Tour (LOT) and meeting thousands of people. During both MHD and LOT the vehicle utilized was a 30' RV dubbed MARV - the Mobile Authority Resistance Vehicle.

MARV is actually the impetus for me creating an account here on Bitcoin Forum since I'm raffling him, and taking Bitcoins as one payment method (in addition to FRNs, Dwolla, and PayPal).

After FRNs, Bitcoin is the least-expensive way to get raffle tickets: 5 BTCs for 1 raffle ticket or 42 BTCs for 10 raffle tickets.

The online portion of the raffle ends on June 15th. The in-person portion of the raffle ends a week later at PorcFest (an annual event in northern NH where 1,200+ liberty-oriented individuals gather).

If you're interested to learn more I encourage you to visit http://peteeyre.com/marv where you'll find a 2-min overview video and more information about obtaining raffle tickets.

If you have questions let me know.

Thanks for your time!

-Pete

Greetings to everyone here in Bitcoin land.

Although I am new, I hope to eventually start my own Bitcoin-based business with the goal of succeeding independently - without having to work as an employee for someone else as I do presently.

Looking forward to a brighter future,

Hi everyone! Been a lurker for a week or so but now time to reg. and get to know some of you.

Just ran across this alt currency a few days ago from a post or something and intuitivly knew I needed to find out all I could about it.

So far, I have:

1) Set up an account at Dwolla so I could get some cash in there. Sent a request this past Thursday via ACH. Sunday evening, Dwolla has debited my bank account and not showing up in my account at Dwolla yet. I think it said I would have access on the 15th.

2) set up an account at MtGox to buy some coin when I have the funds available.

3) downloaded the Bitcoin client.

4) Received some free BTC from the Bitcoin Fauset and Free Bitcoins. THANKS!! Both showed up in my client ok. (once the client was sync'd with the network)

5) Sent a donation back to Free Bitcoins to see if everything is functioning ok.   Will do the same to Fauset but I need a few more pennies to do that. Evidently it cost more fee to send that donation to Free Bitcoins than I received. I know the "free' BTC is basically to test with and see if everything is gtg.

6) Registered here!

My main interest at this time is to speculate until I can see a way to start a biz/service.
Then help to further the development of this community in some small way.
Look forward to seeing some of you around the board!
