I'm UberNeck. Professionally, I do front-end web work specializing a few content management systems. I was first introduced to BTC through Tor and have since taken an interest in cryptocurrency. I comment under a different name on the reddit sub, but I'm jumping into this forum, as well.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I am a Bitcoin beginner but and IT experienced person for quite some years and I find Bitcoin protocol revolutionary.

This is going to change allot and I want to be part of this change.  Already got my BitForce Jalapeno order and I am anxious to start mining.

If my posts has been helpful, thank me here:

I'm a software developer that is interested in creating some services for BitCoin.  Been doing a lot of digging into different bits of code.

Welcome developers are great to have around, you should be able to make some decent money.

Long time lurker, long time miner.  I do not know everything about bitcoin but I know enough to guide people past the marketing rhetoric on both sides of the bitcoin argument.  Hope to get a junior member designation soon and this is the place to start.

I'm Jay and I'm debating whether or not to invest in a Single SC or Avalon ASIC.  I'm a newborn to the BTC community.  Still getting the hang of things and how this complicated and intricate system of decentralized virtual currency works.

I'm new to this forum. I am thrilled to be here. In a previous life, I lived at Laissez Faire City and had some involvement with the Digital Monetary Trust venture of Orin Grabbe.

Hi

Been reading up on Bitcoin since first finding out about it a few months ago. Seems like a great idea, and I'm hoping to get involved trading. Gotta make sure I understand it fully before investing too heavily, but I thought I might as well make my first post in the meantime.

Seriously? 355 pages! … I wonder who will read this .. OK well I’m NoWhammies, I’m a noob that just Googled “How to mine bitcoins” & clicked on the first link entitled “Beginners Guide to Mining Bitcoins” (startbitcoin.com). It instructed me first to get a “Wallet”. I did that, encrypted it, then somehow found bitcoin.cz and installed “Bitcoin miner” on my computer. I choose “Kiv’s GUI miner”. Then I Sighed up with a bitcoin.cz account, logged in, entered my wallet address, registered, then copied and pasted http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332 in the address bar, clicked the forward arrow (Internet Explorer 9), and it asked me for a name and password. I gave my worker1 name and password and that didn’t work. I then gave my bitcoin.cz name and password and that didn’t work…
So now I’m basically wondering if anyone out there who has experience on getting up and running is willing to talk to me about it on Teamspeak, or even Ventrilo. … Is there a TS or Vent room up now?
