Hello!
I'm from Poland.
I try to create linux witch truecrypt installed on Flash Drive to keep wallet secure and to keep this with me all the time.
Now it's works fine. And I come here to introduce this linux community of BitCoin

Out of curiosity, our most of us here college age? It seems like a lot of people interested in this are in their 20's to early (maybe) 30's but I could be wrong.

I think you're right about this. Most ppl here are in college age or slightly above. I think thats because bitcoin started as a hacker currency and most people interested into these topics are in students of various nature scientific subjects. |

I'm a disgruntled person trying to find opportunities to post.  On a more serious side, I'm a graduate student of Computer Science and I got interested in Bitcoin about half a year ago (when I, sadly, first heard of it). I've been a lurker until now but I've found some bugs in a Bitcoin related software (sierrachartfeed, a bridge between mtgox and Sierra Chart) and I'd like to get in contact with the developer who posts here on the forum. |

Hi, I'm new to bitcoin - currently I'm trying to find a way to mine cost-effective, but I guess I'm a bit too late for that. Especially that I'm from good old europe where the electricity costs way to much for me. I pay about 0,225 Eur/KWh (thats about 0,33 $/KWh!). Perhaps i should buy an old water mill and build a hydropower-station from it  Would be good for GPU cooling too |

I came across bitcoins, while reading some world reports on fiat currencies, and one lil abscue refernce to "..moving towards bitcoins...", now, I've been bitten by some sort of bug, 'cuz now, it's all that occupies my mind, other than the rockets and mortars that frequently stream into our compound, oh, BTW, I'm deployed to Iraq, so, I'm mining with what I have with is a Dell Precision M6400 with a high end graphics card (though evidently, when I say 'nvidia, people turn up their noses like I'm farting or something.) but, even over here, I'm mining, and was een able to get some money Western Unioned to Naniama gold ---> now if I could just get the bitgold, er, coins into my new ewallet, so that I can sit and play at the betco.in poker room....

Hello, my name is mateo, I've studied economy for a few years and have recently being looking into bitcoins. I've being mining for the last month and analyzing the statistics and everything is looking good from here One thing I don't like is the amount of information based on purely speculation, so I've registered to have a say from now and then on a few topics. I live on a third world country, where the currency actually crashes once every few years. History and statistics can predict these crashes. Whereas regarding btc, and looking to its price going up and down from the moment it was created, I think it is safe to say the price tends to go up. Crashes are not a common thing and the last one was not even based on a real event, just someone trying to steal lots of money. History shows a tendency of going up. Usually markets and currencies fluctuate according to its history. Time will tell if I'm right or wrong. I really don't care much to go into a deep discussion on this matter, and less on my presentation post on this subforum. I'm also a mobile software dev. I'm about to launch an app in the android market and want to be sure no one can launch the same on iOS before I do, or at least with the same name, graphics, etc. I'm looking for some legal guidance on international apps rights, so if anyone with experience on this subject is willing to share his knowledge with me, please drop me a pm. Being working on this project since december and haven't seen a buck yet, also invested on btcs, so I'm kind of poor, don't expect to receive anything from this, except a huge "THANKS ". cheers |
