Hey, I'm CERN...

My interests include programming (asm, c), vodka, science, linguistics, guns, vodka, guns, Quakeworld, vodka, etc.

I learned about bitcoins while researching some cryptography stuff a while back...

I never stopped using DOS...
and I never stopped playing Quakeworld

And I don't always drink vodka. But when I do, it's ABSOLUT

Bitcoin is one of the more interesting ideas I've seen in a while.  Here's hoping it succeeds and manages to change our world.

Man, the reply button couldn't be much harder to find.  Grin

I'm Ben, but you can call me Nobu (since there are so many Ben's...it's all about us, ya know?).

I like puzzles, strategy and RPGs (not the gun  Tongue), and cats. I like programming a little, but I never really finish something I start; maybe if I had someone to work with.... I know a bit about C and C++, but never really learned enough of the languages to write anything substantial. Python is where it's at, but most of what I've written in Python could be considered a toy by above-average programmers.

I'm shy, don't talk much. Don't really have much to talk about. I write a lot, don't ask why. Sometimes I talk or write too much. I guess now would be a good opportunity to stop.  Cheesy

Might as well hop on the band-wagon and join the needing my 5 post minimum chain.

Just another miner who likes the idea of bitcoins and hopes to see the system survive the various ups/downs it's had recently.  Also the guy who runs http://goo-inside.me/ for mirroring android roms, though most of the people who use the site, never knows it!

A rambling PHP coder/linux administrator, projects are fun, but it sucks to have to do them one at a time, more fun to try and multi-task them to stay interested.

Hi, my name is Randy, and I'm a n00b.

I've been suffering from n00bism for quite some time. I'm on step 1 of the 12-step program.

I sure miss the days of Quake.....  Though I moved on from there to games such as EVE I definetly did not give up the vodka!

Cheers

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

I must write in this section

Reply to
http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=23067.0

My cards:
6850 + 1-3 MHash/sec
One card: from 204 to 205-207, and communication problem with bitcoin, every 5-10 min.
Second (also 6850): from ~194 to ~196 without communication problem.

Not bad, but only 1% better.

Hey there lowlevel. How is your mining going? If I may ask, what type of mining are you doing? CPU OR GPU?

Hi all'

Dropping in from XS and giving this a try on my crunchers. There is something I'm not quite doing right but 4, soon to be 5, cards have gotten me a few coins. I wish this was a bit more "set and forget" but I find myself needing to get hands on more than once a day

Welcome

Sounds like you may need to do some tweaking with temps, voltages, flags or where your crunchers are pointing at. Have you looked through the mining threads to see if anyone else is using the same cards or similar setup as you are?

To put more meat on the problem... http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=26874.0

I had a look around and figured moving away from guiminer would do the trick but AOCLBF is too clever for me Sad

Stock or clocked, low 60's max temps, other progs running or not, The real issue is I cannot Make it happen...it just does (usually when I am not there)

Has happened at night too which kinda sinks my "isp contention issue" theory

I've been following bitcoin for about 1 month.  Frankly I am pessimistic about the value in the shortterm, but cautiously optimistic about the long term future.  We just need some good ideas and some good developers.
