Care to share the nitro bios and polaris/wattman screen? Smiley
Thanks mate, very nice results, do you know what is your consumption@wall?

I'm using this bios to get around 28 mh/s also

https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/9533/28mh-470oc-nitro-4gb-boysie-rom-dual-mining/p1

Works pretty well but you have to set the dcri to a specific value to really get that numbers.
I managed to get 29.2 mhs + 450 decred/sia getting the mem to 2060@1.15 and core to 1260@1100

OC nitro? Is that just the same as the nitro or are there two different nitro's?  Lips sealed
Oh yea, and as i understand it is better to save stock bios with polaris bios editor than gpu-z?
And i can use atiwinflash while using integrated graphics, right? Smiley

Sapphire RX 470 Nitro+ 4gb
i always use atiflash from the command line, the only time i tried to use the ui version atiwinflash it hanged up and i had to unbrick the card flashing the bios using another card as primary to be able to boot.
If your itegrated graphics allows you to have another graphics card working it'd be excelent, on this old p5qm-em the igd doesn't work very well when last gen video hardware is attached to the pciex, so i had to use another card on the 16x pciex port and the bricked one with a riser on one of the 1x Tongue. Glad it worked, when playing around with bios flashing you're always risking bricking the card for good, so be careful and be warned!

I always used AtiFlash from windows for all my mods , and my friends cards . Never had any issue .
Sometimes its looks like the AtiFlash is hang during the flash , but most of time is not ! Sometimes its need 5 minutes to finish the flash , during this time it looks like the computer screen frozen , keyboard mouse not working ,  Not Responding ...

If you turn off your computer (with forced reboot or turn off) , during this time period , then you screwed up your flash and  u will need use another card to re-flash the bad one .

Is it reasonable to flash 6 cards at once?

How to use patched atikmdag.sys ?
I flashed moded bios, than installed previous driver to match atikmdag.sys and graphics cards "disappeared" for driver.

Edit: Updated from 16.8.2 to 16.9.2 and it works, but can't adjust power limit in watmann and increasing mem clock doesn't do much of a good thing.
I'm confused what is this patch for

I'm confused what is this patch for

new drivers do not require a patched atikmdag.  Use msi afterburner or something else, or watttool, I find wattman really buggy sometimes, but some people can use it without problem.

Thx for reply Frank. That explains a lot.

Funny thing i flashed 2 identical cards with same BIOS and they have different clock/volt characteristics. Also on one hashrate reacts to mem clock shift (primary) while other is not. I thought i was freaking out so i downloaded bios from better and uploaded to worser, but no change.

Leave one for restoring all others. Just learnt that easy way (dual BIOS). Donno why flash failed.

Your mileage may vary, after a while my setting wasn't stable enough anyways, depended too much on the power limit, etc. etc., i'm currently on 1300@default voltage clock and 2000@default voltage mem and it's pretty stable on 27.5, i'll wait until i find some way to correctly manage voltages under linux and the fine tune to see if i can get 28 stable, i don't have power consumption issues so i prefer better speeds.

for the recommended 470 question....well I suppose an 8 pin vs 6 pin is better, although since apparently the pci watt load is pretty steady it doesnt make much difference.  So go with what the memory freq is.  higher is better.  so sapphire nitro looks to be the best bet.

Sapphire nitro is a great card.
Xfx is really good too.
It has my best asic quality of 92%
I can share pictures and mod if wanted

I agree with Wolf, XFX is really a high quality paper weight.  Shitty cooling, shitty components.

See my post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1615394.msg16247718#msg16247718

I'm pretty sure all 480 8GB ref and no ref got samsung mem. Also pretty sure 480 4gb doesnt have samsung. Also sure all sapphire 470 8gb got samsung, and all 470 4gb ref and no ref got hynx(maybe some micron too already). The only none samsung 8gb is msi 470 8gb which is micron i think. So at least for the VRAM you are not exactly right. I personaly also like ref design pcb but with non-ref cooler as it was with 290 tri-x and pcs+(first revision). These were the best 290. Sad there is no 470/480 with ref design pcb and custom cooler.

Non-ref don't all have Samsung. Non-ref is luck of the draw, always.

Which nonref 480 8gb doesnt have samsung?

Right now:
All 480 8gb - Samsung
All 480 4GB excluding bios masked 8gb ref - hynx
Nitro 470 8Gb - Samsung
Msi 470 8gb - Micron
All 470 4gb - hynx/micron

Just got an XFX without it.

RX 480 8Gb 8000mhz which i not Samsung, really? If this is true this shoul be different hynx/micron from the one on 4Gb which is rated 6600-7000.. Are you sure you are not mistaken?

Am not mistaken. Always luck.

here is a rx 480 that is reviewed using samsung memory.. you can read here..

http://videocardz.com/review/his-radeon-rx-480-iceq-x2-roaring-turbo-8gb-review

bought "OC" not "turbo" ... hope the rams are samsung

my card asic is 55 and 63% i was able to get 27MHZ pulling only 60watt each in gpu-z. my total rig pulled 370 watt from the wall with 2x 470 and 1x 380.

GPU-Z wattage is totally irrelevant, it tells you what your gpu alone are pulling not the whole card.
I keep seing this in pretty much every single thread, buy a wattmeter if you want to see your cards real powerdraw.

ETH algo is pretty much all about memory so why even bother comparing your gpu:s powerdraw ?
It would suck to get twice the amount then expected on your electric bill if you do the math backwards.

My 480s report around 90w in gpu-z, 171w from the wall.
My 470s report around 80w in gpu-z, 145w from the wall.
