Not really.

Don't worry about it. Even the "poor" memory gives good results.

7 x MSI RX 470 Gaming X 4GB
Al Hynix Memory

Using custom 1625 strap. All mods done in the bios and used on all cards except 1, which I had to "degrade" slightly.
1160 watts at the wall.

This is a nice first try, but you can decrease the wattage dramatically. You can have similar hash rates with 800W

What is the easiest way to lower power consumption, can i just lower core voltage in afterburner?I have 8gb msi rx470.

Yes also lower core clock to 1150 or less (I used to use 1111 but now use 1130.. many others use 1150 which is usually 0.15mhs faster if i recall correctly)

1350 Watts at the wall. I think the high # of rejects is due to my wifi connection. It was rock solid all night and dropped around 8am this morning.

As many pointed out in also in this topic, especially sapphire cards have different BIOS, they do not work on cards with different code.
So if someone want to help my advice is to give specifics about the bios and not the file itself, otherwise some newbie would end up with a non-working cards

How you did the lower the voltage on xfx ?

I can not control the voltage on my xfx`s i did try with wattol, afterburner, trixx... no one work for me Sad

I do not have this kind of card, so mine is just an advice.

Have you tried to modify it in the ROM directly?

I got it down to 991 watts at the wall. My PSU says it is using 900 watts. I have a smaller platinum PSU which is only running at 90% eff.

What else can I / Should I do?

You definitely still have room to improve.

I'm doing 178Mh @ 950w.  I can probably shave some more watts lowering my core voltage, but sometimes I do 10% overclock on core when mining XMR, and I want to have enough voltage for that.  So I normally run 900mv, and 950mv on memory.

This is 6x MSI RX 470 4G.  The hynix (29.4) are lightly loosened 1500 straps, and samsung (29.9) are lightly loosened 1625 straps.

I recently just got 6 MSI ARMOR 470 4GBs with samsung memory and a tb250-btc. 1200w hp server psu(for cards) and a 600w(for mobo and risers). Currently getting 28.5 steady on claymore 9 on smOS. Eth only. Stock bios other than 1625 copied on up. Memory currently at 2025 and power level 5. Steady 170mhs (28.3-28.5 per card)

XFX cards are fucking terrible, and don't use the usual voltage controllers.

These cards are actualy quite good price/performance/awalability ratio

But is there ANY way to change voltage? Even bios or other ways?
I think i can experiment now with bios to see if it works, but i want to see some other people experience first.

I use wattman, can't you? Right now I'm 900mv/1050mhz core and 900mv/1980mhz ram => 28.8Mh/s and 125/130W@wall

Technically, yes, but it's not going to work the normal way. I2C is probably the only way.

I'm a noob, that's for sure. So I have built a rig based on 6x MSI RX470 Nitro+
My hash rate per card is around 25 mhs
Full rig power consumption: 670 -700W

Other specs:

Motherboard: Asrock pro btc
CPU: Celeron 1840 lga1150

So I have read all the pages and my head have just exploded.

Is there a simple way or a trick with my cards just to find the sweet spot between hash rate and power consumption, of course to lower PC and increase HR?

Or to put it that way. What values to change to what to have a baseline to start experimenting?

well im gonna without shame plug my website here, since its made for noobs pretty much (and news on miners, etc.).
Basically, you need to modify the bios of your GPU, which is pretty easy.  Then you must increase the memory clock, and underclock / undervolt the cards.  its trial and error, see what is stable, see what you like.  you'll need polaris bios editor, atiwinflash, and msi afterburner.  I reckon thats the gist of it, the easiest and most effective way.
