Is Paypal a scam?

Paypal isn't a scam. I speak from own experience and i have never had any issues with making transactions to someone else.
The only issues I have had with Paypal are the high fees for a transaction.

I do agree with this I did many transactions with PayPal from buying from online shops. And there's no problem that I did experienced from it everything went smoothly. People are just the ones who are making some bad ideas and using this payment processor as a medium of their shady activities with their victims.

I don't think that there's some glitch or the security of PP is that weak. Well I stopped using them but still I trust them when it comes to storing my dollars there and I haven't read any news that they was breached since I just used them for a couple of times. People are just misleading others to tell that it is a scam.

Paypal as a buyer is great but paypal as a seller is terrible since the buyers will try sometimes to get advantage of the chargebacks and most of the time paypal sides with them, this is one of the reasons paypal is not accepted in the forum as a medium to buy bitcoins.

If PayPal really was just a scam then it would not be one of the biggest payment gateways (if not the biggest) in the world. Clearly whoever you heard from must have been doing something sketchy on their accounts. I have used PayPal for many years and have not had any problems with my account that could not be fixed with a simple customer support email (minor stuff).

Yeah they will not going to be this far if they've got some scam accusations throughout their entire service. There's no way that PayPal will be turning out to be a scam, it's a matter of business and trust. And they are the most trusted payment processor for a lot of years already and I'm sure that they will not do such as shady things just for the sake of one time profit.

I have had an issue with Paypal and while I was trying to look for a solution on the internet, I came across this website (https://www.consumeraffairs.com/online/paypal_02.html) where everybody is complaining about Paypal. Most of the complains were actually similar to the one that I have. I thought Paypal is a credible company but now I have started feeling worried about my funds stuck in the accounts.

I cannot say that Paypal is scam, Because scam includes sending a fake message from paypal stating that the money is on hold until  the shipping agent has been paid. So this fake is obvious if you know how paypal works. Perhaps you know that in paypal had no problem sending mails this non existing account holder. Therefore in your case I think there is some a little misunderstanding happened.

Yeah they aren't the ones that has been doing scams with their transactions. They are just a simple payment method where we can simply put and store our dollars that has been sent to us, it's like our dollar wallet. And if we wanted to cash it out using bank transfer they are always been a good service with it. That's why PayPal will never be a scam.

yeah you will find that it is easy to shop and trade and what you will also find is the huge fees and reverseable transactions which is not good for money itself and allows people to be less careful with their funds. Bitcoin solves all of those things because it allows to send money with really small fees and it is impossible to reverse any transactions what makes way more sense. However, of course paypal is not a scam at all and it has never scammed anyone because no one would trust it and it wouldn't be so big.

I don't think Paypal is a scam since they have been existing for so long. If it was, Paypal had been shut down by now.

Fun fact: Elon Musk, CEO of the tesla electric car company and lead figure behind Space X, had his humble beginnings as a paypal co-owner.

He may have had a hand in inventing paypals verification scheme where they deposit a small amount in your bank account.

I don't think paypal is a scam. But some of their policies could be a bit on the paranoid and unfair side, which is why many in the past boycotted them.

Their reputation is better now, it used to be much worse.

I'm using Paypal for over ten years and made many payments. It is always smooth and safe if you follow their terms. But some people try to cheat the system loopholes then their accounts may be on hold to prove their funding or some other reason. That's why some people always complained about the PayPal. I too don't think any scam company can survive so long in the business. They are best for online payments.

paypal certainly not going to commit fraud paypal is under the law and the owner is also already known to the world if they cheat course owner will be in prison. I use paypal quite a long time and no problems until now

Exactly, paypal is not a scam. TRansaction is so smooth and easy to handle.

Its not a scam sure but its being used for scamming, they are aware of how the scammers are working for the charge backs but they are not fixing all the flaws to make it comfortable for the buyers which the money is from. It doesn't matter who scam whether its the buyers or the sellers, its how they make it easy to scam.  If transactions are going to be irreversible in paypal, I will likely be using it again. I have my funds in paypal though which I receive from upwork.

It is definitely a reliable service, but some of there actions are too much problematic. The fees are still acceptable but the sudden freeze of funds, not letting to withdraw are some major issues faced by me.  But if this issues are away, then it is quiet easy for me to transact.

I'm using Paypal for a very long time around ten over the years, but my funds were never frozen. It looks like they may be suspecting the source of your funds. If you can able to prove that those are your funds then they will release those funds for sure. For online payments PayPal is very convenient and it is not a scam.

Yeah that's true paypal is kind of an online bank who needs all info if you are getting huge amount of funds like recently for my work i received 2 payments which were more than 500$ so they frozen my account and asked for id proof and address , i gave them all and now they even increased my limit. It's just we need to talk to them if we have any issue they will happily assit us.

I sometimes use this payment system. Indeed, several times I could not make a payment. I had to contact technical support. I did not really like this service. It's easier to use bitcoin-purse

And I agree with you. May PayPal and not so quickly transfers money as bitcoin, but he is not a fraud. They have their own rules, which must be observed.

Well, this depends on how you look at PayPal because most people that purchase things on Ebay like to use PayPal because it's quick and pretty much the only option to get products packed and shipped to your house within no time.

Businesses that use PayPal don't like it because PayPal freezes Business accounts without any reasoning sometimes.
That is the most popular reason why most people don't like having money in PayPal. There shouldn't be much of an issue if they already verified the profile and Business account and checking it after they send money to another person/Business.
