I was looking back and can't find the thread for the 7970 settings. I just flashed the bios last night and was looking for the optimal settings. Can anyone help me out with those?

I'd recommend the following my build guide here:
https://blockoperations.com/build-6-gpu-zcash-headless-mining-rig-ubuntu-16-04-using-claymore/

If you only use 3 cards you would not need the second power supply.

My brother just gave me a couple of Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2 GB DDR5 video cards and I have no experience with them.  Anyone running these cards and if so, what kind of output do you get?  Just wondering if they are worth hooking up to a machine.  They are free but I don't want to waste my time either if anyone can provide me some insight as to the effectiveness of these cards.  Thanks.

Anyone using the MSI Armer 4GB 470s and would like to share their results? That would be greatly appreciated.

My go-to motherboard at this point is the ASRock FM2A88X Extreme6+

I always make a point to put a "shortie" card in the 3'd slot for better cooling (Gigabyte's "mini-ITX" 1070 works nice, no clue why there is no RX470 / RX480 equivalent out yet), and I don't recommend running "backplate" cards in the middle slot (though they'll WORK, they leave less space for cooling).

Those same recommendations apply to ANY 3 x 16-bit slot board I've seen though as they ALWAYS shove the 2'nd and 3'd slots too close together.

I'm holding off on any new system builds at this point though, waiting for see what options show up for AM4 and what AM4 APUs come up with.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

Why are you still running GPUs directly plugged in to the MOBO? Smiley

I looked back and we were talking about its rate and power consumption for ETH but didn't mention the hashrate for ZEC. Sorry for any confusion.

for ZEC you will get 230-240sol/s with CZM v11.1, -i 6

This is for stock at around 140W right?
I prefer hashing with ETH bios and lowered clocks that gives 220@110W

This is for optimized settings and I measured around 115W. You don't need to modify memory timing or clocks for ZEC mining. You can use the factory bios and lower the GPU clock and voltage (also memory voltage).

Yes I am aware its not needed, just too lazy to keep reflashing the bios Wink
Honestly I thought that 240 is achiveable only with stock (or around) clocks.
What are your core and mem to run 240@115W?
