Avalon batch [2] countdown!

Well gentleman, I'm a little confused about this thread

I have tried to stay up to date in order to be ready for when my batch 2 arrives - I hope for zero delays when I turn this bad boy on, but the above thread makes me think that the Avalon's should be tweaked.  Is there any reason we would need this watercooling or is this just a hobbyist increasing his efficiency?  I can fabricate something like this in my shop at work, but it'll take a few days and a couple favors.  I want to be ready. 

You don't necessarily _have_ to water cool it but of course if you do you will get better heat transfer than air cooling and that means you might be able to push the chips even further or if you live in a hot climate ensure cooler chip temps at stock clock rates.

Not Newbie Friendly - The Avalon units are designed much like a hardware development board, while it works out of the box with very little configuration it is ultimately geared towards developers and experienced miners, please do your research before purchasing. A good place to start is the Bitcoin Wiki page on Avalon.

Let's not be so mean about it. Changing and IP is an easy task. Go to Network and Sharing Center, change adapter settings, right click on local area connection go to properties, select IPv5 and click properties and voila. In windows XP it's network connections right click on local area connection, TCP/IP, blah blah...

I might be wrong, but I think that no update = good news. If they had another delay they would have already told us.
About the fact that they didn't asked for old customers to send their tradeins, this is not that easy. Maybe they decided to put that on hold due to the huge price increase, since that they have yet to pay.

Well, if you checkout the trade-in program thread (same section) they said they will honor batch 2 prices for trade in customers. They further said they people who keep their promises. Read into it what you will.

- Googling my question
(- Even try)
- Ask questions (with all possible information to help me)

Thanks - I was hoping this was the case.  For a moment I was worried it was having overheating issues.  I plan to store it in the basement where it stays nice and cool all year long.

Actually I noticed a 4 day blackout with 2 of my suppliers in Shenzhen so the 4th of April turned into an extended 4 day weekend :-)

Thanks - I was hoping this was the case.  For a moment I was worried it was having overheating issues.  I plan to store it in the basement where it stays nice and cool all year long. 

Well hopefully the basement can deal with the extra heat being pumped into it. Remember the heat has to go somewhere. If you got multiple units then you have a LOT of heat to deal with. But I'm sure you realize this.

Calculate how much profit they can make by delaying the shipping for one day, and what the consequences would be if they do. And then you tell me if you wouldn't in that situation....
