So BFL who throws quarters at people 1 year with pre money NOT SCAM Kncminer partnership with a legit 11yr old company, not taking any money BIG SCAM SAUCE
Did i understand everything correctly?
BFL, actual history of shipping FCPGAs. They were also the first to announce pre-orders before it became obvious that selling imaginary bitcoin miners became the newest and least risky scam on the interwebz. During the last 3 months we have had on average of at least 1 new asic scam announcement a week, you are surprised people refuses to trust them until they show actual hardware?

Also, from the experience with BFL the bitcointalk community has seen what happens when a company with little experience in the ASIC field jumps in blindly. Any other who are to follow without having a long history of successful projects in the field will have a much harder time than BFL did to earn the trust of the community. BFL got a freebie just cause they were the first, that's usually how it is.

Now you are making up excuses for them ... that are also clearly not correct.
No I'm certainly not. I'm only stating facts and correcting people who assume things instead of taking the time to read properly. What is not correct about that? I'm going to save you the trouble, because I know you will challenge me on it anyway. Look at the first post (I even highlighted it for you): Hi everybody, We are Swedish miners that are producing our own ASIC miners to strengthen the market and avoid monopoly. Our company kncminer is pleased to announce the opening of a brand new web shop dedicated to the online sale of Bitcoin hardware to the international community, www.kncminer.com. A lot of scam sites are appearing every day and we are not one of them, therefore we will not take any orders and are only registering interest. We will in the upcoming weeks opening our order book to allow the purchase of our first set of ASIC miners. They are in the early stages of development now and will be ready in the summer of 2013 (yes in just a few months) Register an account now it’s completely free and if you subscribe to our newsletter we will alert you the moment we open the order books for entry and other information around the ASIC products. If you have any questions we will be happy to answer them. Happy mining

The traditional first stage of development of products is market research, isn't it?
First find out if there are people willing to buy it?
So getting people to sign up to a mailing list makes a lot of sense as an early stage of development...

I support BFL for the simple reason that they stepped in and started a ASICs project that they went ahead with before anyone else. Then a lot can be said about how they have dealt with this whole thing but a 6 month delay in the chip business isn't exactly something that has never happened before.
The Avalon guys also has my respect for starting their own project even tho it at the time seemed like it would be non competitive with BFL simply to have at least one other vendor in the market.
But the KNC guys? jumping on the bandwagon at this point? never heard of them and they have no past products to show for. I wish them the best of luck and I hope their project is real but it's up to them to prove it. The only thing that will convince the community at this point of another viable ASICs vendor is that they show working hardware and have it verified in person by several forum members.

BFL is almost ready for shipping, if they start to ship next week, why should I buy kncminer's product instead of BFL's SC which is already proved working?
I suppose that most of the ASIC devices will have similar performance, that 28nm helveticoin offer maybe can provide better performance, but definitely not a magnitude better than existing ASIC products

One reason, delivery time. If you order today and BFL starts shipping in a week I wouldn't expect you to get your miner until September/October at the earliest. Josh is an optimist with a bad track record for estimates, whatever he tells you simply double/halve it and add/subtract 25% for good measure

If it is so easy to setup a website to accept pre-order money and google a local FPGA/ASIC design company to contract the actual work, there will be already tons of these companies out there. I still don't know why bASIC's project failed, they had working FPGAs too

Why are peoples expectations and verification of BFL different from other companies. I'm not defending KNC here, but you want hardware to be shown and have it verified in person by several forum members. How many forum members have verified BFL's hardware? Besides Lukes mythical machine that is in their office. Plenty of people have gone down there and seen nothing at their office, no security you can just walk on in and take all of their "miners" that they have produced. Meanwhile this company actually has a partnership with a reputable company that does $1.5M in sales annually and it gets bashed and held to higher standards than BFL who has done nothing but lie, and treat their customers like shit lol. Reading the posts nothing has been found wrong against this company as a matter of fact a lot of positives have been found which makes it 100% more legit than BFL, yet people put these crazy standards like field trips to their office to verify their product. I'm not saying that this shouldn't be done, it should absolutely be done!, but why aren't you guys screaming and doing the same thing to BFL, BFL is even easier to visit, yet people just let them slide. Ohh people visited you last month and said pretty much you were all having circle jerks, and it looked like absolutely nothing was being done, great! it just seems very mind boggling retarded to trust one company but not another even though the other seems more legit than the prior for no logical reason at all. /End Rant

The Majority of people don't want to buy chips, have them shipped, have somebody else put together different sizes of 10 chips each or several hundred at an extremely overpriced cost, with July, August 2013 deliveries. People would rather have one company where they purchase a product for a reasonable price and it gets delivered. If these guys can actually deliver on their Summer/Early Fall Timeline they will probably dominate the ASIC market, even if BFL is actually delivering, which probably won't be the case, with their waiting for revised chips, plastics, PCB's, new office, power cords, porno movies, 60+ year old assembly workers, Josh's new transsexual hooker.

They can easily tell the first 1,000-2,000 people who sign up that they are of the first 500 people who HAVE to pay 100% as soon as they get an email from them. Where's the accountability that there would ONLY be 500 people offered this option.
You're correct, but possibly misinformed. You can choose to order from the second batch now, the idea being you don't have to cough up (in full anyway) until the first batch (0-500) units are confirmed as legitimate. http://kncminer.com/categories/minersThat being said, you are correct in stating that we have no way of knowing if the "first 500" item is truly limited to 500 purchases.

Well I pre ordered 3 first batch and my number was #613, doesn't mean anything could just be their ordering system, end of the day if they are legit and produce a working product could care less if it's only for 500 people or not as long as you queued.

That number would be from the shopping cart database, not a reflection of an individual item. I've configured many osCommerce type shopping carts before, you can usually set a start order number (like #1000) - so your order number isn't worth a grain of salt and tell us nothing. Incidentally, please EDIT your posts rather than spamming the thread.
