I actually haven't done anything about power consumption yet. No worries, I will get to that in no time.
No worries, but you're really doing awesome work! Got a rig on GG with Monero and it happilly hums away, never crashes and does about 560W. I'll wait a bit until you do some power optimization for ETH though ^^

At any rate, I will have to rethink the financial aspects of open-source miner development. Sadly, I was making much more money when I was developing private kernels just for myself.
Well, you should add optional devfee to your miner( on by default), I'm sure a good percentage of miners would pay. Yeah, somebody posted a configuration file for sgminer for dev fees in this thread a while back. Let me take that up now... you can also consider creating your mining pool and we will support you with hashrate This could be a matter of tweaking, but the new GG ASM kernels reported similar performance locally as Claymore, but at the pool the performance was not as good. Higher rate of stale shares as well. (I also realize are other factors that could have lead to this). I'm talking in terms of 24 hr averages. Lower power consumption than Claymore though, which is nice.
This was on pre4 with the initial ASM stuff dropped in on windows 10. I will test out the pre5 release this week sometime.
i also noticed LOTS of HW errors on linux

This is a very interesting project! But what does S/s mean? How to convert to H/s?
Basically 1:1 Misinformation. There are approximately 1.88 sols (solutions) per hash. It's Equihash specific, i.e. Zcash, ZClassic, et al. Edit: The pools are all reporting sols/sec, regardless of whether they say "hash rate".

Why do you set the worksize for your asm bins at 192l4 for windows and 192l8 for linux?

The worksize is the same. It's 192. l[4|8] signifies the size of "long" of the host, but I don't think it is necessary. The legacy sgminer codes need quite a bit of cleaning...

I just uploaded a new pre-release: https://github.com/zawawawa/gatelessgate/releases/tag/v0.1.3-pre6I managed to add another 1Mh/s to Ethereum minining with GCN3 devices, including Fury, Fury X, Nano, and RX 470/480. I believe power consumption is slightly reduced, too. Please let me know if that is actually the case. Having said that, I also had to add a voluntary 1% developer's fee for a number of reasons. I am not going to get into boring details here, but it suffices to say that I love open-source development and I would like to make it work. I trust your good conscience.

I started GG pre6 on win7 before running to work. I could'nt play much with the settings but here what I saw in 10 min: - Had to drop xI to 1024 because the default 4608 was crashing my cards, had no time to try something else. - got the same hashrate than pre4 (but no optimised xI) - fan speed was lower, wich could indicate less consumption, but the test was not long enough to be accurate. - Once I arrived to work, the rig seems down. Edit: I finally connected to the rig and it was working fine after 8 hours.

It mines 99 shares for you then mines 1 share for the dev, shouldn't regenerate the dag from what I have seen.

The default settings for ETH should work with EXP and ETC.

Removing dev fee from miner is easy but could cause zawawa to stop developing open source. So I will not go through steps to remove it.

Well, if I don't collect the fee, I will have to cancel the project very soon. Development costs a lot of time and money, and I ran out of money now. It's as simple as that. My wife just told me I should be generous only if I had spare money, and she's probably right. I really hope this model works, though. The number doesn't look good at all now, but I'm crossing my fingers...

god damn nicehash. rofl. Anyways, I vote you get some money for your work. open source and all is fun, but if you are the only one doing god's work (i know you arent the only one, but pretty much)...then...do it like claymore. based on sgminer, which a lot of people like the interface better anyways. my2cents. got to have the same speed at least though

So, you're happy to use the result of his hard work, which is open source, but you begrudge him 1%? Do you mine solo just to avoid the 1% pool fee, too? Do you steal rolls of toilet paper out of public rest rooms, while you're at it?

I just tried out pre-6 on my Linux 4.10/AMDGPU-Pro 16.6 rig. Looks like nobody added detection of AMDGPU-Pro to the autoconf, so I had to set LDFLAGS="-L/opt/amdgpu-pro/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu" for for configure. The binary kernels seem to be loaded: [21:06:17] Loaded binary image ./binary-kernel/ethash-newEllesmeregw192l8.bin [21:06:17] Initialising kernel ethash-new.cl with nfactor 10, n 1024 [21:06:17] Loaded binary image ./binary-kernel/ethash-newEllesmeregw192l8.bin [21:06:17] Initialising kernel ethash-new.cl with nfactor 10, n 1024
However performance is slightly less than sgminer-gm 5.5.5 with my Rx 470 @1169/2100. gg gives me ~29.0 vs 29.35 for sgminer-gm. I also tried with the core clock unlocked, and get ~28.85.
