Ripple is very good coin as compared to ripple but the main advantage of bitcoin is now the ETF which will be soon applied on the bitcoin. It will be soon accepted everywhere. That is the main reason ripple will be set back again.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Since Opencoin is an American company, it will accept any government intervention if It wants to keep its investment and this is the only point of failure for the distributed currency scheme

I do not think it makes sense if ripple replaces bitcoin, we know that the ripple always decreases and people say that the ripple can not grow anymore. ripple is at its peak and can not rise again.

Could Ripple XRP replace bitcoin before it is widely accepted?
If ripple allows users to send money instantly and almost fee free, with a pretty and easy to use UI.
Plenty of money to burn on advertising and reputation building.
Business and Financial connections likely to get them accepted on large merchant sites.
Why would the average person have any interest in Bitcoin?

More important could Ripple become controlled by business or government?

I'm not suggesting any of this is fact.
Just wanna hear the opinions of people that actually know stuff.
I believe, that Ripple can compete with Litecoin, Monero, etc. Even Ethereum cannot be calm in the face of Ripple, but Bitcoin is really unreachable for the Ripple to go with. We need to understand the difference!

The purpose of Bitcoin and Ripple is totally different.I don’t know ripple will replace BTC or not but it’s value and utility are now getting recognised by bank, as more banks will come one board it’s value will increase.

Ripple is not a cryptocurrency. I wouldn't be surprised if Ripple's blockchain is PHP. lol

The two has different usage because bitcoin is for payment on goods and service while Ripple is for settling payment. When it comes to investment I still choose Bitcoin with the ups and down of Bitcoin, I am confident it will continue to grow.

How can you compare these two cryptocurrencies? Bitcoin is the most popular, valuable and legendary cryptocurrency. Ripple? I'm not even sure that this is really a cryptocurrency.

bitcoin I think there's still a lot of choice over ripple, nowadays around the world there are countries that legalize bitcoin for payment. but ripple may be an option for investment because ripple is not too bad.

But I think for ripples is a good electronic money, many investors get a good profit thanks to the trust and investment in Ripple. But compared to Bitcoin, Ripple has a huge gap in technology, value, community, and market popularity. Therefore, in addition to investing in Ripple, Bitcoin is also my choice.

Ripple is one of the most valuable altcoin to invest. Ripple has the advantage that it is accepted by many banks around the world and used in transactions. However, I would choose to invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the king of the market, it is the best cryptocurency. Now that Bitcoin is in the process of recovery, its price starts to increase. I think we should invest in Bitcoin now if we want to make a profit in the near future.

I don't have any problems with payment systems as they exist now-except exchange rates. They do not function as we would like-of course, not immediately. I've seen a number of Ripple's criticisms focused on various streams. Maybe it would be good to be all for all people, but the creation of a single communication Protocol is a big enough goal.

There are some differences, though: Bitcoin implements the proof-of-work system, which is a piece of data difficult (costly, time-consuming) to produce but easy for others to verify. It has to satisfy a set of requirements, too. In the case of Bitcoin, it implements the Hashcash proof of work system.

Ripple, meanwhile, uses the already explained distributed ledger, the “consensus” one, so there are notable differences in the modus operandi. Ripple is owned and administrated by OpenCoin and the Ripple Company, whereas Bitcoin is a decentralized system in which there are no central authorities.

with various innovations presented Ripple can be the dark horse cryptocurrency of 2018 Smiley

although ripple has a strong and clear vision of mission and is far from bitcoin, I personally if I choose to invest my funds I will still choose to invest my funds into bitcoin, everyone knows bitcoin rather than ripple, even though the ripple is now working with several banks in the world

he Ripple unit (XRP) is not intended for currency. They even say the plan is to Finance their operations with him. And if it were widely accepted, then why bother to use any other currency in their framework? In addition, AVC, such as Andreessen Horowitz, will not be involved unless they become a serious Bank, if all goes well.

Bitcoin seems to me a more reliable investment. Ripple is now being promoted as an alternative to Bitcoin, but this is centralized crypto currency. And this I do not like. The future is not for centralization.

I believe that the ripple will never bypass bitcoin. Bitcoin will always be in the lead. This is the most important crypto currency, and it depends on what the situation will be in the market of crypto currency.

Bitcoin is based on blockchain technology, while Ripple doesn't use blockchain but uses a distributed consensus ledger using a network of validating servers and crypto tokens called XRP (sometimes referred to as Ripples). but i must prefer bitcoin because i know that bitcoin would last and good for a long term.
