Former coinbase CTO bet 2 million USD that bitcoin will hit 1 million in June. A very McAfee like bet, but at least it looks like he's really ready to put money on the line.

to me, it looks like a publicity stunt.
However, as someone else had posted on twitter...if btc rises 4% and he has 1000coins in total, then his bet is fully covered.

Yes let's not get insulting.

I'm not an "old white man". I'm a geriatric honky breeder.

My skin isn't white. It's "flesh-colored" (according to crayon manufacturers), sort of a pinkish color. Johnny Winter was a "white man".

fyi, I was making fun of the 'woke sjw crowd'.  And only these racist idiots label white old man pejoratively... it has nothing to with "any language"...

That's true.
Very similar to what Arthur Hayes did last week predicting 1 million.
There's also this Ryan Selkis who claims we'll go to 100k this year
https://twitter.com/twobitidiot/status/1636547059313516545?s=20

And on the other side of the spectrum we have Gareth Soloway who kept repeating his 10k bitcoin prediction last year.
The guy was interviewed 4 days ago when bitcoin was at 25k and again said that we're going to 12k this year...
Link below if anybody's interested.

understood, but jokes don't translate well.
had to look the sjw term, though; I am mostly present in social circles where these topics are rarely discussed, if ever.

show me on the black doll where the old white man touched you.

Is that asking too much?  or am I trying to be too specific in regards to potentially inflammatory descriptives?

I am kind of thinking that on the interwebs.... .. do we really have a purpose in self-identifying.. even though there is kind of a presumption that most here are guys.. even though surely.. there are likely a good 10% gals.. and maybe even it could be higher?  25%?  I doubt it would be that high.. at least in this moment of bitcoin's demographic's history.. .. there are some attempts to describe what bitcoiners look like.. and quite a few bitcoiners are white and westerners.. even though bitcoin likely has advantages that are potentially greater for non-westerners.. in the kind of El Salvador example and even the kind of example in which "out of the loop" countries, institutions and even individuals likely have great chances of being disproportionately more advantaged in adopting bitcoin, if there is an ability to actually spot that advantage and ability to financially and psychologically be able to accumulate bitcoin in such a way to actually benefit from that advantage that is likely built into bitcoin's ability to facilitate non-status based advantages to those who can see it and who act upon such knowledge to participate/accumulate dee cornz.

You misspelled "ghey". C'mon get woke.

There are some age-ism and generational arguments in bitcoin circles.. and surely some of those are weak from my perspective... the ones:  "you guys screwed everything up" and "sucks to be us when you lived with such privileges" and "our generation has to pay, blah blah blah. [bullshit---it's not completely untrue.. but still a wee too much whining from the perspective of this here cat.. ]"

correction incoming?

Really?

How do you know?

And, how do you define correction?

Does it matter, even if it takes us back down to $24k or $25k.. that is hardly even significant, is it?

How are any of us going to play this?

Is Hyperjacked selling yet?

How about others who are playing those kinds of games?

Will it work to pick up more cornz or contribute towards having fewer cornz?

I know.. gamblers have difficulties with these matters, and I am pretty sure that you (Gachapin) are not into playing those kinds of swings.. even though tempting, right?

Are you tempted?

Any regular (or self-described) HODLer tempted to play it?  or try to play it?

By the way, some of the traders will not tell us what they did until either after they did it or after it worked out for them, and there will be crickets about the times that they did it and it did not work out so rosily well for them...

Today, in an interview with Pompliano (towards the end of the interview.. maybe in the last 15 minutes or so), I even heard Raoul Pal admit that he would have been better off if he had not been trading bitcoin.. not too common for the traders to admit those things, even though he still has been a bit self-selective in some of his representations in regards to the bullshit and the shitcoin pumpening that he had been doing in the past couple of years.

Central banks to boost flow of US dollars amid market unease

It's becoming a bit of a joke now isn't it?

I was listening to a a bunch of morons in a podcast in which they were bullish on gold and supposedly understood BTC perfectly well but don't believe in it since it didn't keep up with inflation last year.

Gold literally only JUST kept up with official CPI inflation over the last 12 years! And that is WITH recent mammoth buying by the Brics nations which they pointed out themselves.

Madness they can't even be a tiny bit objective in their own stupidity.  Roll Eyes

Sure, we are going back to gold in a digital age, sure.  Roll Eyes

Considering how piss poor the Swiss banking has been recently and THAT is where much of the gold is stored for many investors in the west, would you really trust these imbeciles with all your wealth?

correction incoming?

Really?

How do you know?

Just a question. I saw a cascade of sells happening on top of the bunch of recent sharp green candles.
Never claimed "I know"

And, how do you define correction?

in Bitcoin nowadays maybe from around 5-10% onwards.

Does it matter, even if it takes us back down to $24k or $25k.. that is hardly even significant, is it?

If we get up again in time, you are absolutely right imo

How are any of us going to play this?

Are you tempted?

Definitely not!  by '15 I learned that I'm a shit trader and that I have more gains by hodling than by trading.  However I envy the few for whom it's the other way around.

By the way, some of the traders will not tell us what they did until either after they did it or after it worked out for them, and there will be crickets about the times that they did it and it did not work out so rosily well for them...

I saw quite a few bragging in the WO over the years.  But all that bragging was silenced eventually..
I guess a real gentlemantm never tells..
