I wouldnt count on it. I say the high for 2016 is... $900? Maybe $800? I dont know, I just pulled a pair of numbers out of the good old derriere.

Forecast for the next 40 hours looks cloudy with a chance of dumpage. If news comes out that a single bidder took the whole stash, we go up.

It's very unlikely but possible. 7.5 billion people on the planet, 15 million Bitcoins.  O.2 %of the world's population would have to own an average of 1 BTC each. or 2% would need to own a tenth of a bitcoin each.
There's already ~ 5 million unique users, so adoption would have to triple for 0.2% or go up 30X for 2% adoption.

$5k/btc would give the distributed autonomous corporation Bitcoin a market cap of $75 Billion, roughly 1/10th of Apple's market cap.

Odd-numbered years bitcoin adoption makes up for what it lost on the even-numbers ... it's like a hurricane re-structuring on the new true eye to re-establish exponential growth rates. It won't stop growing until the fuel/energy feeding it is exhausted, do you see that happening any time soon?

... this thing is gonna clear the decks in a whirlwind of creative destruction the likes the world has never seen, conditions are primed, the atmosphere is febrile.

I wrote that a long long time ago. 2011 I think. It's been quite a ride so far. The problem with being ahead of your time is that you never know when (if ever) the rest of the world will catch up.
