Bitcoiners are proving, time and time again, that they ain't got the most rudimentary of scruples -- the sort that stop people from shitting in the middle of a living room of a house they've been invited to, or a church.

If THAT's what you took from what I wrote, then either you're not listening or I'm communicating improperly. I was saying that the U.S. is a low standard for censorship resistance/freedom.  In some ways, China may be more free, I don't know. It doesn't matter.  I don't want to get off subject, which is that somebody has a kill switch. It doesn't matter if that someone is Motherfucking Aristotle.  If there is a kill switch, Bitcoin is not censorship resistant.

If only 10% of the bitcoin users are in the LN, and the other 90% are still using raw bitcoin, then (very roughly) only 1% of the bitcoin payments will be through the LN, 81% will be between two raw bitcoin users, and 18% will be between an LN user and a bitcoin user. The latter will require at least two on-chain transactions, to close a channel and reopen it. So the on-chain traffic will be 81% + 2 x 18% = 117% of what it would be if there was no LN.

That's sort of unsporting...
