BItcoin looks to be recovering a bit today. LTC is on a tear (for Litecoin of course). While everything has been volatile again at the end of the week zcoin has made very little headlines with its big gains.
I would like to see Bitcoin make it back to steady $2700s again...
There seems to be a pattern of weekend Bitcoin pumps developing, as opposed to the weekend dumps we used to get. I still don't understand the reason for it as no fiat gets sent to exchanges while the banks are closed over the weekend. That's easy to explain: When Bitcoin is over past ATH and the weekend comes there's no remaining FIAT on exchanges. When a BIG dump comes during the week, there's LOTS of FIAT on the exchanges from the people that sold higher.

I wouldn't call ETH a shitcoin. Been hearing that along with warnings not to buy since it first came out. I'm glad I ignored all the experts calling it crap since it came out and bought gobs at under $7 over the last 2 year. Now it's over $365 (down from near $400). The ease it allows for smart contract integration is a strong feature. I guess I'm just not as smart as the ETH shitcoin callers. At least I can get some consolidation from watching my new lakefront home being built, funded totally from a portion of my ETH profits.

Yep. I do have some, so I have some interest here, but even if I didn't, I would be very glad it could take that Ripple scam out of the second position. I don't say ETH because, well, that is totally out of reach. LTC is helping bitcoin as a testbed for Segwit. Maybe in the future it will contribute testing some other developments before Bitcoin integration.

I definitely think Litecoin is still going nowhere, just because it has Segwit now and potentially LN coming doesn't change a thing. No one liked it and no one cared...for years now. And in the last 4 years, Chinese exchanges have quietly mined millions of litecoins (because it was easy and cheap to do), and will happily let this rise for a while only to dumpity-dump dump their millions of litecoins slowly back into the market once a downtrend is confirmed. I've seen it before, and won't be a part of watching that again. The top 3-4 Chinese exchanges own collectively ~8M litecoin.
I disagree, I see litecoin as what btc should have been: no b/s, no political bickering, spam problem solved logically and simply years ago, possibly more decentralized in mining and ownership than btc, always been in the top 10 by traded volume. What is not to like? I'm just sorry that I did not accumulate more when it was cheaper, because my target price is 1/4 of BTC price (because of its final total of 84 million LTC).

and litecoin had that luxury to get its house in order because bitcoin was constantly taking the beating of its life. just like everything else that is not bitcoin. if the situations were reversed we'd be saying the same thing about bitcoin being the contender.

Yeah, I'm sure you were thinking all that when it had a completely dead community, miners were dying off and selling their rigs, and the price was floundering flat at the $2 mark for nearly 3 years straight. Suddenly parabolic price != increased adoption

BlackFlag well, that's what I see, we're getting to the local summit right now. The direction is one (down), soon the middle of the scale in 1d scale. Can be really bloody;)
... can be. Who's blood are we looking at here, Black Flag's? Dip buying and short rekting is trending again.

Any govt can coerce him to do whatever they want in the future, and i fully expect that to happen. Im more sympathetic to etherium classic, though the premine made it scammyish.

i would. but that don't mean you can't make an insane amount of money out of shit because clearly you can. there's far more money to be made with corrupted projects than honest ones. i would love to have been in on it purely because i would've dumped and walked away without a second thought. i can't say the same about other coins, shit or not.

Flo has a total market cap of 14 million. BTC trades every day 1.4 billion, so how is it having that effect.
My thought on litecoin rising was its benefitted as the general idea of segwit is in the news as valid proposal for bitcoin. It kinda lends authority to litecoin that its already got it working and litecoin is even cited in the reasoning of some pools for proceeding with the larger market. I see the volume traded for Litecoin in value exceeds bitcoin, at least today

Perhaps on the theory that the time to buy is when there is less competition. Sure the price is rising but perhaps it would likely have risen more quickly in the week. *shrug*

I still don't understand the reason for it as no fiat gets sent to exchanges while the banks are closed over the weekend. People expect weekend dumps, then they sell everything before the weekend, causing a crash. They see the price bottoming and buy back because no pump happened, causing a pump in price. That is how weekend dumps become weekend pumps
