I think it's pointless comparing super computers to BTC's computing. BTC computing is a one trick idiot savant that can't do anything else.

There's an intriguing bit of psychology at play as the price rises. And this is only really going to kick in once we're in the quad digits. Humans have this peculiar trait about us that the more expensive something is the more we desire it. People with wealth in other areas will see the rise, and will find themselvews strongly compelled to buy some of these mysterious bits. And this cycle will continue on upwards.
Microeconomics 2302. BULLISH. TIME TO BUY! I told you on the last page. Did you listen?? Who's your daddy? Sweet baby Jesus. What I wouldn't give to have my 25 BTC and 1100 ETH back. . . HODL gentlemen. Don't make my mistakes

You may even have to move up your retirement several years, like now.
Go RETIRE!!!!
Get your ass on a beach somewhere and start sipping pina colatas, dammit!!!!
I feel I owe my industry a couple task completions. All y'all are depending upon it. That said, a couple months ago, I took my boss out to dinner to inform him that I am on a path to retirement - as soon as I finish aforementioned tasks. At this point, the salary is really kind of superfluous.

I think most people have a sell point ($300, $650, $1,000, $5,000) where they dump.
Dump? Perhaps 'most people'. Then again, think about how stupid the average person is, then think about the fact that half of all people are stupider than that. Odd that Litecoin is just sitting there...
... because?... (I don't find it odd at all)

Apparently that 2nd place coin (that's not to be mentioned in here) buys a lot less bitcoin than last week...
But that third place (formerly fourth place) coin buys a bit more today. Cheers!

I bet all those chumps who paid half a bitcoin for some bud from Alpha Bay last year are kicking themselves about now... Can never regret having fun. Just like paying 10,000 bitcoin for 2 large papa John's pizzas. When btc was worth much less than a penny. laszlo has previously stated 'no regrets'. I hope he is still able to be as sanguine.

Of course. I totally agree. But you have to have some frame of reference when you make implausible claims to normals.

<-- XD You are a fake bear. Real bears are poor guys that sold their Bitcoins long time ago (or never even had any significant amount of it).... well, there's also the "new bears"... those that are still waiting for $875. You are none of those. Nope.

I recently heard (cant remember where) that bitcoin is the largest computational achievement in history. Couldn't seem to validate this with a search. Anyone else hear this or have links to articles?
Based upon a reasonable mapping from hashes/sec to FLOPs, yes. Indeed, we passed that milestone years ago.

A very late good morning Bitcoinland. I was woken at the crack of noon by the phone ringing and the door pounding and haven't had a chance to check in until now.
I see we kept last night's gains and reached another ATH before sliding back a little... currently $6620USD/$8527CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
AltCash also holding its own at $495USD/$637CAD (Coinmarketcap).
Life is good. Go Bitcoin go.

Real bears are poor guys that sold their Bitcoins long time ago (or never even had any significant amount of it).... well, there's also the "new bears"... those that are still waiting for $875.
Don't forget all the "adolescent angst bears", immature kids who think pessimism, cynicism and sarcasm are cool. They're frustrated by their own lives and love to see others fail.
