Tether seems to be stable during this bloodbath in cryptospace. Too bad I haven't invested in that. If you want stable, "store of value" coin, Tether is the answer.

Not surprised you have no merits. Dammit, why can't I demerit you??

Yesssssss.

YEESSSSSSSS...

THIS is the sort of despair and capitulation we need to hear. MUAHAHAHA.

This can only mean one thing. We're likely close to the bottom at this point, and starting to be entering WAY oversold territory.

On a serious note, I think this whole sMerit system needs a re-thinking.

I wanted to merit this post, but find myself on my last sMerit. So now I'm forced to HODL my last sMerit.

I feel like Zoidberg going on a sandwich-heavy portfolio, by blowing my load on people when the Merit system first rolled out.

Figured it would regenerate with time. Nope.

@Theymos, can has bonus points for the bantz, pls ?

Sorry for OT, but how can I vote the Poll at the top of the page? Thank You

AFAIK Newbies cannot vote, one has to be at least Jr. Member for this.

Right, you'll have to share your prediction openly so everyone can laugh at you.   Wink

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the problem is that historically a Bitcoin downturn has never failed to fall below the 200 MA eventually at some point and stay there for a while.  Undecided

I have no idea of the source but this is doing the rounds of social media.

Its more for optimistic amusement than something with any know basis in fact.

**edit found the source
https://ambcrypto.com/deeper-investigation-bitcoin-ethereum-markets-falling/

After the crash I also realized there was huge media manipulation going on. As the price was heading to 19k, we had only bullish news. J.P. Morgan got interested in BTC (now says its scam again) the owner of PayPal invested a couple millions, every average joe analyst on TV and newspaper told that BTC is a good investmend and could go to 100k. And a lot of other positive news about BTC came up. Then, after the crash started, FUD FUD FUD all day. And still going on.

I find Mike Novogratz to be a fairly reliable contrarian indicator.

Every time he comes trotting out on MSM and says "I can see Bitcoin at [XXX] by the end of the year!" then you know the top is in soon.  Roll Eyes

Happened in Nov/Dec 2013 as well.

I will merit someone for anyone for .01 BTC per Merit.

Get in while the price is low. ICO. Cheap Merits.

Let's start a WO sMerit ICO. We can trade it on Bithumb. I'm sure the SEC would love that.

Wasn't it breached late last night?  200 MA appeared to be around $6,050 and we dropped to around $5,600

Not for a terribly long time, but it was breached

Yeah, but only when he talks. He didn't talk when he first bought eth at $2.
Maybe it is because traders like to throw other traders off (to do the opposite of what they intend to do)?

I am unsure about my cash flow rate in sMerit, so for now I am behaving like a cheapskate and only sending in 1 at a time, my apologies to all who deserved more. Roll Eyes
Once I'll understand how the cash flow in sMerit behaves, I promise to send more to those who deserve it. Wink

What are your numbers based on? Polo shows 6012 low on 24hr chart.
Besides, moving below for a short time on itself does not indicate bear.
See in that guy video of S&P500 and Brexit. It even closed below 200 SMA, then popped right back.
It only clear way afterwards, so both scenarios (a bull and a bear) are still possible.
For bull to have a chance, we would have to move above 100 EMA and fast.

1. Goto here: https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4713250/cryptocurrency

2. Move the slider to 01:20:30

Listen to what the chairman of the CFTC says about Bitcoin/blockchain tech.

Amazing !

Sorry, my bad -- I thought it dropped to $5,600 last night on GDAX (the exchange I use primarily) but it looks like it only got as low as $5,913 --------- still a decent amount under $6,050

If Polo got as far as $6,012 I think this all tells the same story -- $6,000 or thereabouts should be considered the resistance point, and hopefully we don't test it again.......

Thanks America, the only talk of yours that made me smile in my lifetime! Smiley

Get ready for next bullish race. I don't know why, but I think China will soon relax some stuff for crypto too shortly in a few days.

So ...

I think I will wait until 9k/10k to buy more BTC.

I am just not sure if we bounced up for good or if this just a small pump before going all the way down to "I don't know" ...

But if BTC hits 9k/10k again I feel it really will move up again. (And yes I will bite myself for not buying at 6,5k Cheesy)

Polo doesn't trade USD /BTC, better reference an exchange that does, maybe? Polo is usually a little higher than (say) Bitstamp - which I personally prefer, and Finex arbs with Stamp, too, usually linking prices between them (roughly)
