10% fall after a tripling of the price isnt a big deal.   S&P is falling alot, maybe stronger USD
Seems like even those conferences are into bands. A crypto band?

Actually that was a big deal.   I read an idea to release music on a blockchain, so distribution would be very cheap and somehow also secure in copyright control ?   Actually cant remember how they were going to do that.

In theory sounds like it'd be massive if they achieved this, of course a person could still just record the music playing or whatever media and reencode it.

The pin I mentioned held, decent rise from some support.  Bullish above 10629 say , 10727 a mark to beat short term.   That seems calling it far too precise, must be sideways btc

As long as it all leads to more people of the world buying bitcoin, then I could give a rip how much they and institutions wanna overhype Blockchain tech.

Well, I don't like to be surrounded by silly. But I suppose.

Neither do I. But having been in the IT industry for two and a half decades, I can safely say that I've seen my fair share of IT 'hype cycles' based on emerging new tech.

Corporations haven't ever got a clue what to do with these new emerging technologies or how to make money from them (their ultimate goal). So they hire a few bleeding edge, high cost 'Consultants' to come in and educate them, tell them what to build, and finally build a useless prototype/ pilot project that ends up costing a year or three and a few million $$$. 99 times out of 100, the pilot project gets deployed in Dev and shown off to a few executives, who immediately question the full follow-on multi-year project's ROI value, and the pilot goes completely nowhere and eventually gets shut down and forgotten.

This pattern has repeated over and over as long as I have been in IT. And I'm sure it will continue far into the future...

Companies like IBM, Deloitte & Touche and Accenture have made hundreds of millions on hyping these emerging technologies. But they end of up costing their gullible clients far more than any return they could ever hope to get back.

Cnbc says George Soros' firm is the the third-largest shareholder in overstock, He says bitcoin is a bubble, then heavily invests in overstock.  Roll Eyes

Quote
George Soros' firm also disclosed a 2.47 million-share stake in Overstock in the fourth quarter, according to a required filing with the SEC in February. That makes Soros Fund Management the third-largest shareholder, behind Patrick Byrne and Morgan Stanley Investment Management, according to FactSet.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we're still going sideways in the $10K-$11k range... currently $10724USD/$13775CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Seems February ended up about where it began, after all kinds of drama.

Winter's grinding down. Hopefully we'll have our spring rally soon.

I always found it hard to play with more than one guitarist. They tend to go off on long jammy tangents without telling me. I guess my ear wasn't good enough to pick up the chord changes quick enough.

It's hard to imagine having another guitar in our outfit.  It is a hell of a lot of noise the way it is.

"Lead" guitar players are annoying. I hate having to play with more than one guitarist at a time. One good rhythm guitarist is worth more than 100 noisy, self-centered "lead" guitarists with all their goofy effects pedals and total lack of self control.

They're so clueless some of them actually think that people other than guitarists actually give a shit about some rambling pointless guitar solo. Most audiences are concerned primarily with the actual melody and lyrics of the song. They consciously listen mostly to the lead vocals while subconsciously being moved by the groove of the rhythm section. The singer is the main treble voice, not some silly guitar.

As a bassist, I'd rather play with 2 drummers than 2 guitarists. I can handle a good 3-piece (bass, drums, guitar) band because the guitarist is forced to play mainly strong rhythm with only the occasional "lead" fluff. Frankly, I'd rather have a good sax player to play the instrumental breaks, as long as he doesn't think he's John Coltraine.

SEC announced crackdown on ICOs is bringing some shivers to the alt pumpers.

The long winter for alts is beginning methinks.

masterluc's almost 12 months sideways consolidation around 10500 would fit with an absolute bloodbath in the alts, ICOs and blockchain scam parasite space

Pretty interesting musical/bands conversation.

Today I have learned "guitars" are sorta Roger Ver personalities, constantly trying to change/fork the songs to their egomaniacal needs. Drummers may be the miners, usually doing their job on the background unless a Jihan Wu personality emerges trying to take the lead and more protagonism than they should.

It's no wonder bands are more prone to forks than even crypto is.

Again, I could be way out of line here, but look at this for a minute. And this is the cream of the crop. There are 'conferences' all over the place, doing 'talks'
Really? Is this Bitcoin now? 'FinTech'. Give me one good reason.
It's not amazing.

How much longer will Tone Vays be invited to these events when he goes up on stage and basically says that other presenters/speakers are running scams?

That was not his chart, but he agreed with it.
We might go even higher in the first bumb, with even 17K-18K possible.

LMFAO at all the Youtube Crypto personalities that sprang up last year.

While the momentum trade was going in 2017, they all acted like total and seasoned 'Crypto Experts'. Like they knew exactly why Bitcoin, or this shitcoin or that, was going up, and why. They told all their followers that they should invest in this or that.

Now that the momentum trade is over, they are floundering around and haven't got the slightest clue what the crypto market is doing. Fucking hilarious.

I predict that if the market goes sideways for another 6-12 months, most of them will completely vanish from Youtube, or at least 90+% of their followers will unsubscribe and drop off.

I'm a bit worried that the current small up movements are still combined with low volumes.

Positive thing is that we don't need 1500 BTC anymore to reach 11K but only 950.
