Someone just called me and asked if I was interested in making some money by investing in bitcoiin, the Steven Seagal backed shit-thing. They got this referral program, see. We would both benefit. Their whitepaper says it will be worth a lot, even put numbers on it!

I decided to be nice to him. Said no, thanks but no thanks, it's a scam, they are using bitcoins name to lure people in. No we already have litecoin, don't need yet another bitcoin companion to join the merry band.

Didn't seem to deter him. Genuinely wish him the best of luck with this thing, but what a poor bastard.

Looks like some people tend to enjoy the easy way out of crypto... Well I hope the door doesn't hit him hard on his way out. Because if he invests in it, he's sure going to lose and not look back.

I really don't appreciate this additional gag gift the bear whales are serving up today. Gee whiz, my 50th hasn't even arrived in my part of the world, yet. Come on BTC markets, you have a little less than 12 hours to turn this around.  Angry Friday is going to be hard enough for me.  Cry
Whine and you shall receive!  Cheesy

Hope this trend holds. Waking up to $10,000+ BTC was a nice birthday surprise. Please BTC, don't make my 50th harder than it already is.
Sorry I've been away and couldn't congratulate you. Smile, my friend, smile! They say 50 is the new 40, so life is just about to begin again! Smiley

And bitcoin will rise, as she always does.

I wonder if it will help if I whine some more today. Waking up this morning was really not pleasant after seeing a big dump. Not sure why these big moves frequently happen in the wee hours of the morning US Mountain time. Cry

Actually, mine is on the 23rd. I guess that I have made a security error since everyone now knows my exact birthday. Oh well, in this day and age, I already assume that all of my information has been compromised.

So far a rise to about 12K has materialized which is pretty close and there could still be another leg up. Afterwards, a slow grind like 2011, 2014. 3K would be a good final bottom for the bear market if things were to remain bullish for another ATH at the next halvening. I'm not at all sure about the long game though.

Is this a short at any point? What if the following apply:

-Other better short term trading opportunities do not exist
-No counter-party risk

The risk in this trade is that crypto winter is somehow avoided, this would take:

-Massively bullish news events.
-A fourth wave of speculation.

Both of these are long shots. Most governments are opposed to bitcoin, the ones that are not naturally move slowly and cautiously through bureaucratic institutions. Technical developments in BTC are limited and only have a small impact on its real use case (speculation). Smart money isn't loading into something that is crashing from a 10,000% run-up. The pool of dumb retail money is finite, you can go from 1% >10% of the population knowing about something. Going from 50%>80% is orders of magnitude more difficult.

I'm 10,000% sure it'll pumped sky high at some point (probably by Steven Seagal himself). But so did Bitconnect, and several other ponzi scams. So did hundreds of other penny stock shitcoins over the last year. Makes no difference though, a scam is a scam. Not worth the risk IMO.

https://pagesix.com/2017/10/24/creepy-dr-doom-chases-after-married-model-paulina-porizkova/
Famed economist Nouriel Roubini is aggressively wooing supermodel Paulina Porizkova, even though she has been married to Cars frontman Ric Ocasek for 28 years.
Roubini — nicknamed “Dr. Doom” after predicting the 2008 financial crisis — spoke at Richard Hurowitz’s hedge fund conference last week at Sotheby’s New York, where he jovially announced his new moniker should be “Dr. Boom Boom,” due to the lavish surroundings.
However, the name seems more appropriate following Page Six’s coverage of his wild hot-tub parties attended by scores of young women and models at what one outlet uncouthly called his “vagina-walled downtown loft.”

Ocasek and Porizkova
You'd have thought Roubini'd fit right in over here, but oh no, 'bitcoin is bad, because of reasons'.
