Omg what kind of witchcraft is this? I went on vacation for 4 days with no internet during what was supposed to be the least volatile time in bitcoin and I come back and the price has floated up $200 on no volume. Looks like everyone unanimously decided to pull their sell orders/bots and there are no coins for sale!
OK whoever asked me when I would admit I was wrong, this is it. The May patterning seems clearly broken. Looks like I've been badly burnt on the 40% part of the 60/40 position I left myself in. I give up with TA and bit coin - the exchange system is too decentralized now for that.

There has been a bit of news you may not be aware of: Zynga will accept Bitcoin on some Apps for example. Some other stuff. And we are now coming out of the holidays for the first full week of 2014 business. My guess is you can still jump aboard.

I've always thought TA is a hopeless way to approach bitcoin trading.. And who supposed the last 4 days would be the least volatile time? I thought shit would go down non stop from january 2. and onwards? edit. Not go down as in price reduction

I am not surprised at all by the German outbreak these days. Since 1914, it has been the most spoken language in Europe... Every 25 years.

I wish we'd stop getting rallies driven by huobi. So dodgy. The dopamine addicts get fixated on it, and then when China goes all tiddlywumpus, they panic again? No thanks. Even so, it would only take 800 coins to push huobi over 5600. Unfortunately they only publish the top of their book, like btc-e.

Well, common logic about trends don't apply on manipulated markets that have highly concentrated wealth distribution and a lot of people who make their decisions based solely on where the price seems to be currently going. This is gambling, not speculation.

I've decided to finally go long. Buying in again on Wed as $ will not be available til then. Any guess as to what it will look like by May? I agree with previous posts that the price was in correction before the Chinese actions which caused the dips. And now we are back in that correction.
Another interesting thing is how the predictions before the Nov. surge which predicted a price increase now seem bearish. The predictions of falling prices then seem inane/irrelevant. As do the articles we are still seeing which hate on bitcoin because it is a "Libertarian" effort -- which it is not. Bitcoin came first, Libertarians just see it as conveniently fitting their politics. And of course the arguments that bitcoin can be used for money laundering, crime etc. are echo chamber ignorant vapid arguments since by that rationale we should stop using cash, buying art, etc.
The rapid adoption seems promising, and is happening faster than anyone said, as usual. So yeah, I just hope that buying more on Wednesday will not be too late.
