So we've had a quadruple bottom in the 6000-5700 range since the ATH.

Who else (beside me) is still unconvinced this is a solid support?

I'm not convinced of a bottom yet but I'm playing it as such so I won't be missing out completely. Anything in the 5k range feels rather cheap and I've got larger buy orders set around 5700. I'm not certain we'd be able to break below 5k easily and my bet is a 5200 hard bottom.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Flat as a pancake... currently $6514USD/$8502CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Right where we were a week ago. Ho hum.

What do the Wall St Observer guys think of this?

I like one thing, that people is talking about 5k like it was talking about double digits in the previous winter. Seems that btc have a bright future ahead  Smiley

Things I don't like include the increasing attention from traditional financial markets, the civil war with big blockers, the lack of merchants and the undeniable pow centralization.

I predict a bottom not much souther than here followed by "stable growth" and then a huge pump and then capitulation.

The last cycle can be repeated many times and in fact I think it will be, the only important thing is having enough "average joes" for each cycle, the newcomers buying during the pump for pure greed.
After some cycle this will stop because there will be not enough newcomers, and the average joe will see btc as a useless scam.

I also would like to predict that no matter how things will unfold summer will finish. Then we will have a mild autumn followed by a cold winter. Eventually, spring will arrive

Huge pump-dump cyclical schemes are not a "natural" thing, this is the pattern that I suspect is more probable for the coming years in btc market, but for sure it can't last forever, and it's not the patway to success, if success is global adoption. Average Joe will lose trust.

Hm. Well, Lamborghini released a faster car, current price 79 bitcoins...

Still too much though, I'd say it's worth about 10btc tops.

Are we officially aiming at lambo now?  Is this the new satoshi's vision?

maybe first layer (the pure Bitcoin blockchain) will be used as a store of value to replace Gold and of course as the basis of the second layer. second layer will then lead to fast global payments and other use cases.

timeframe for this 5 to 10 years again.

Nope. This will fizzle out and the principles of self starting, decentralisation and egalitarianism will win out.

So when the next Consensus comes round I expect NY to be filled with Africars.

Forbes 2011...indeed...made my day...that is what is so great about bitcoin for the press. One week you can FUD the heck out of BTC and then flip the next week and say

moon ...and you have constant news and constant ad $$$ coming in. Rinse/Wash/Repeat. Man, journalism-wise it is 'have your cake and eat it too!'

Easy/Peasy Ad revenue...cover BTC advocates and BTC haters...all looking at your articles and all seeing your Ad's etc

Grist for the Mill!

At $5,200, I bet BitMain would commit sudoku.

If this pump-dump scheme will repeat some cycle, bitcoin will be considered a very bad store of value, and indeed it will be.
A good store of value is something that everybody trust is worth something now and will be worth something in the future, and that mantain value over time
