British Virgin Islands: Big Scrub Island

This one sounded good to me.

The price would be between $60m to $100m probably but I am no expert when it comes to Islands shopping.

I just liked its name. Grin

Racism and wishing death on children is fucking dumb as a bag of rocks though. Green dildos and meandering diatribes don't fall in the same category as blatant evil.

I do agree with you about the "heavily censored" part, though. And that's what the ignore button is for -- individualized censorship preferences.

I agree they do not fall in the same category. But we are all WO participants, we all fall in that "category".

Racist remarks and wishing death on people, meh who cares? We humans have been killing each other for thousands of years, that isn't going to change anytime soon. If people get offended by their posts, go get your emotions in check, they are just words on a forum. We are on a Bitcoin forum, we need to learn to master our emotions in order to gain more sweet and delicious corn!
What a way to tie back into Bitcorn and speak sense at the same time.

Emotions are an important aspect of life though and we would be ill-advised to discard them entirely. They're the other side of the coin and need to be balanced out with reason. Similarly going overboard with reason is a poor idea as well. You can reason your way into anything you want, not matter how grotesque. Without both reason and emotion things tilt off to the extremes.

I'm sure I don't have to point out who in this thread tilts too hard towards reason and who tilts too hard towards emotion at times. We all know who we are. The question is what we make of it.
No, it's the opposite. You can emotion your way into whatever you want. That's how they can call anyone to the right of Marx fascists and at the same time dismiss any argument they don't like by calling people flat earthers. They do not think, they decide on the result they want and damn anyone who says otherwise.

Reason is objective. It is constraining. I, for example, don't want hundreds of millions of people to die over the next few decades. But they will. And I still welcome anyone who can prove otherwise with something other than "lol fascist".

Are you aware of any geographical locations that could turn The WO Islands (name pending) into a reality without having to worry about actual pirates or other random twats attacking and looting?

Actually, no. Have not considered researching "reasonable" archipelagos. Yet.

With respect to dealing with actual pirates and twats, I think it should go without saying that some (many?) of us would be importing enough of our personal arsenals to be able to properly defend "WOlandia" against small incursions.

I'm fairly certain we have enough "big brains" in this thread that we could properly weaponize coconuts to sink distant ships, if absolutely necessary.

I suspect JJG will be leading the defense forces, due to the constant defensive evolution of his island with "Nerf-Grenade JJG's Island Thursdays" planned.

No Lord of the Flies shit. Honest !

That would be strictly limited to r0aches island.

I like the idea of planning activities for each day of the week.

Would we erect a temple to The Flying Spaghetti Monster on an Island, attend services with White Russians and Beer every Sunday morning, dressed as pirates, for example ?

I was looking at this yesterday...its actually not to far from my property on the mainland. My only concern is space..this seems like a good start but might begin to feel smallish after some serious fomo. Seems pretty reasonable at around 1500btc(that I can even make this statement gives me semi-wood..which at my age is a pleasant surprise).

Very nice but I think we need the price to head back into ATH territory before considering something in this price range. Another factor is that after some basic research I have found out that most South Pacific islands are only available for leasing. The tribes own the land and it is never for sale. A silly but very real problem for me. I also like the fact that if push comes to shove I could swim to the mainland possibly from the island I showed. It becomes problematic in the middle of the South Pacific.

CRYPTO CONNECTION

The gunman appears to have published a 74-page manifesto for the attack that is making the rounds online and in which he rambled off inspirations, political and otherwise, leading up to this awful day. After revealing that video game Fortnite taught him how to be a killer, the gunman disclosed that he has dabbled in cryptocurrency, writing:

“I worked for a short time before making some money investing in BitConnect, then used the money from the investment to travel.”

He reportedly used the profits to travel overseas across Europe, Southeast Asia, and Asia, which may be where he became radicalized, according to the manager of the gym where the gunman worked.

I was really concerned when we fell from the ATH of $19,xxx to the bottom

How is it humanely possible you did not see that coming?  It was a parabolic manipulation rise.  Even at $10,000 I was like "lol this is an Enron scam".

Well, Roach, you are so out of tune with bitcoin that you sold all of yours below $700, so of course, when it went to $10k, you had to attempt to make an analogy to something that you knew, and you still don't seem to realize that you are using the wrong analogies with regard to bitcoin.

I think the same about current bears or haters. They SODL at, maybe, 2k (hey, it was 2x previous ath). And now they want to re-enter at those levels. They are angry with life and this is a failed experiment and blah blah...

I remember friends suggesting to sodl at $1850.. Thanks lord i misheard them.
(but, greedy stupid me, i didnt took some profits at +15k.. when BTC was flying.. you know, +1000usd daily. )

At least Adam used to delete Roach when he got too out of hand, for some reason infofront is providing a platform for them

Infofront's got more of a life probably, just that. Often busy with his day job and always with his newborn. Personally speaking, I like his relaxed style. He does have a go at cleaning up once in a while. I agree roach and others are a nuisance with their slavering rants, so when things become uncomfortable we have that useful ignore button.  Grin

Thanks. I've been staying up with the thread, but not posting much.

The boring BTC action tends to nurture these side conversations as well. I don't personally find the discussion of Muslims going on here to be any more off topic (or offensive) than the discussion of mathematics that's been going on for several days.

Also, one thing I look for when determining if someone is trolling is the amount of engagement. Is the person just shitposting, or engaging in conversation? With r0ach, for example, it's often a mix of both.

Well good afternoon all. I guess now that we have wasted the morning away fantasizing we should look at the price of corn today. Yesterdays surge above $4k brought welcome relief to the Bulls as a significant dip in volume right at the closing bell seemed to trigger a small rally. This brought in a fresh wave of sustained buying that skyrocketed the price above thin resistance levels. Consolidation appears to be taking place after the market peaked and is showing signs of being over bought. Right now the critical task seems to be hodling support above the $3.95k area as market indicators begin to relax. #dyor

stamp data, log scale, puts the bear line at 42

Like all things TA, it depends how you draw it. On mobile atm but I assume you are drawing out to the $6k flattening tip?  I am using the Bitfinex Tether scare spike as an anchor.

The discussion before was a series of islands, not just one... and in that way, each HODLer would have his/her own island in a kind of neighborhood.... so each Island, in that kind of system would likely be much more costly.... though, like you, I am no Island shopping expert.  I am sure the more pirates in the area, the cheaper.  and also, the more remote the cheaper.. or the colder, the cheaper.

I suspect JJG will be leading the defense forces, due to the constant defensive evolution of his island with "Nerf-Grenade JJG's Island Thursdays" planned.

I have a preference to spend my time banging chics, snorting blow, doing donuts in Lambos and perhaps sailing yachts (here and there, not permanently).  In other words, I would prefer that my police force is public, and I enjoy security through obscurity. Of course, certain kinds of activities just attract the attention of criminals.. lambos and yachts and even nice dwellings - but there seem to be more measures that can be taken, if you are not stuck on an island... and maybe a resolution of the island situation is just not to be there full time.. only periodically... but that seems to defeat some of the purpose, too.

I suppose if my wealth is a mere billion or less, then I have these kinds of concerns, but if I get into the multi-billion arena, then maybe I am NOT as concerned about security.  Bitcoin's price is going to have to go up a whole hell of a lot for me to b in that kind of territory - along with a concern that I have not sold too many coins too quickly..

In other words, I have largely planned for millions of dollars of wealth, and not billions.. so I might not be thinking correctly.

I think you walk a mighty thin line curating this thread and for the most part I appreciate your light touch in moderating. While some of the posts and posters here encroach on my own personal morality I have to constantly remind myself that it is not my job to impose my views upon others. I can but express my own personal views and hope that it at least provokes some critical thinking and self reflection. Thanks info.

1.  Ibian says that all the Muslims deserved to die (except the dogs).

2.  Ibian says that this was a false flag operation.

Anyone else see a teeny weeny inconsistency here ?

Edit: You can’t go around saying people deserve to die and then act all shocked when some nutter kills them.

I thought that John is hiding on a boat from USA tax authorities, and running for president, and now he is going to sue Ayre?  Such a lawsuit has little likelihood of either happening or being successful, either.
