This is obviously horrifying.  Possible that young children targeted.   I would ask that some of the more committed racists on this thread take the opportunity to reflect on our common humanity.  I would also ask that some of the bystanders to casual racism here take a stand against it.  And I don’t want to hear shitty stories about how you don’t like Muslims but wouldn’t shoot up a mosque.  If you encourage an atmosphere of racism, then you are part of the problem.

Awful day. I hope everything gets alright and we don't get to see such TERRORISM in future, in any part of the world. ICC (International Cricket Council), after the attack, immediately marked Pakistan as unsafe for international cricketers and didn't allow Pakistan to host any international series within Pakistan; they told that Pakistan should make UAE its homeground, and since then, all of the Pakistani home series have been played in Dubai/Sharjah/Abu Dhabi. 10 years on and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is still trying to convince ICC (and cricket boards of Australia/New Zealand/England/etc) that Pakistan has now become safe enough to host cricket series and the teams should come and play without any issues.

Cricket is more than just a sport for the people of South Asia (India/Pakistan/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka), so this was an extremely hurting decision by the ICC for Pakistanis.

...and I'm sure that ICC won't be stopping New Zealand from hosting matches even for a year, just because of the white p... well... nothing.

We have been producing electricity for over 100 years now, during countless wars and crisis, and with many different methods. Sure there might be temporary blackouts locally, but a total, for ever, worldwide blackout? Not gonna happen.

The last event that was previously recorded was a famous Carrington event in 1856 (with no electrical grid present yet).

The movement of poles have an intermediate stage where magnetosphere becomes chaotic. See:

I'm well aware of the solar flares, it's the changing of the magnetic poles i don't see as any reason for alarm. I read a paper (can't find it now) that had looked into earlier changes and come to the conclusion that it did't really affect life on earth. And I don't see how it can possibly affect the production of electricity, they are not related.
