I can afford to lose $50/weekly on btc. No more, no less. I don't care what will happen to it in 10 years. I can afford to hodl that amount forever. I know It is not going to make me a millionaire too. Again, I don't care.

That is very similar my original DCA plan from 2017 too (the difference is I had no max. buy limit in my original DCA plan and I allowed myself to buy the dips) -2 mistakes.

I guess dip buying made me greedy and greed is not good.

Greed made me lose control.

You want all and spend all then you lose all. That's what happened basically.

Lesson learned, I am starting over.

Let's close that shitty topic now.

LOL, Doomcallers.   Cheesy

Where are you now?

Oh God.....

Are you drinking Cow Urine by chance? I've heard it can completely cure this virus....

(Hey, it might work. However that's why you have studies and trials. And hate to say it but if it winds up killing more people than it saves that's not progress)

Paging Jay, I think that mindrust needs some n00b-level generalized investing tips about risk management and not being “muh mental health!” tier weak hands.

I am not even a financial investor, and I know that much.

We had beat some of those ideas to death, it seems to me.

I mean we talked about both psychological and financial preparations, but those kinds of preparations require a decent amount of doing your own homework about your own specifics.. which is a decently difficult task, and a lot of people are not very good at it.. I have been practicing for years, and it is still very fucking difficult for me.

The preparations relate to getting a grasp of each of these personalized concepts:  Cashflow, other investments, view of bitcoin as compared with other investments, risk tolerance, timeline, and time available for research, managing funds and tweaking strategies from time to time.

I know that Jay is going hard on you lately, but daaaamn, you need it.

I should probably let off a bit, but since these ideas are posted in a public thread, they become public ideas, and they are concrete ideas and experiences that are shared by a lot of bitcoin HODLers.  Probably most of us did not get to HODLing our BTC stash without some decent number of mistakes (even preventable ones) along the way, confusion about the btc and macro (and fuck shit coins) market and even confusion about our own situation and how it might have changed or need to be adjusted based on how the BTC price (or overall macro market) has moved.

I gotta say, living in Europe and in a first world country, I am glad I live here and not somewhere else. The government protects businesses and helps my employer with paying for my salary. I know if I lived in a different country I would be out on the streets already.

That's not your government paying your salary. The government has nothing that they don't take by threat of violence from your fellow countrymen. If your moral compass sees fit to employ the machinery of government to steal on your behalf from your neighbors... <smh>

Sadly there are not many people who are both old and wise.

Anecdotal evidence seems to support the conclusion that the percentage of old people that are wise is significantly higher than the percentage of young people that are wise.

Everybody is too fast on uptake for both up and down.
I am fine holding, but having some cash does not hurt.
Those who say, buy 50% bitcoin, 50% stocks might be too early.
BTW, @LFC, FTSE 100 is at the 1998 level. 22 year returns are effectively ZERO, however, maybe a bargain now or soon.
Some predict the same for SP500-either going back to year 2000 levels (SP500 at 1400-1600) or, maybe no returns from here for the next 10-12 years.
