Stock Market is on the brink of another 30-50% leg down...

Imagine what will happen if #Bitcoin  gains 20-30% in the same period

Imagine the institutional FOMO...

That indeed would be sweet

1) The state of #Bitcoin : May 10th BTC corrected ~20% & caught support at its 200 DMA. $10,000 is being tested again. Each retest eats away at Overhead Supply. What we are witnessing is BTC Technicals trying to prove itself as demand over powers sellers attempting to keep it down

its a pipe dream. But I don't want to spoil the bulls' party.

But I do expect the impact of a stock sell down on the Bitcoin price to be less this time. They know how hard it can (will) rebound.

Holding bitcoin is always pretty stressful.

[...]

Not really. Not for me anyway. In fact, I've never slept better in my entire life since I became a HoDLer.

For a stress-free Bitcoin experience, you need 3 things:

1. Some capital to start you off, which you consider "already lost" the moment you exchange it for BTC.
2. Patience.
3. Believing in the idea/algorithm.

It's like a religion really, except that it is backed by science, and paradise is guaranteed to come in this lifetime.

Not gonna happen at this point. Too much liquidity in the system already and everyone knows that if stocks do fall, the Fed will step in to print more money to prop them back up.

Even if stocks did fall, BTC will fall along with them. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just refusing to learn from what happened last time around. The best argument I've heard about BTC not being correlated with the stock market is "it's a short term correlation." This may be true, but its a correlation nonetheless, that occurs during a critical time period.

But I do expect the impact of a stock sell down on the Bitcoin price to be less this time. They know how hard it can (will) rebound.

This could very well be the case.

Not sure that's true. Bitcoin is looking more and more like Gold, in that in extreme stress events it's correlated, because when people need cash in hurry they sell anything liquid to meet margin calls, but outside those extreme events, they have very little correlation. Gold sold off hard in 2008, but 6 months later was at all time highs, I would not be surprised to see stock fall heavily again, but bitcoin keep climbing. The Fed can't prop stocks up indefinitely, they can inject confidence, but I'm not convinced by the whole stock market is separate from the economy thing that has been going round. We're still in a deflationary environment, I expect the dollar and bitcoin will go up, stocks will test new lows within a month.

The lack of testing of workers in hospital and nursing/elderly homes has made the virus spread uncontrollably among our most vulnerable people.

Myself is utterly disgusted how Swedish authorities has handled this pandemic so far.

I don't quite understand your "disgust". The difference between Sweden and its neighbouring Nordic countries is almost insignificant in terms of mortality. Meanwhile the difference between Sweden and the big "lockdown" countries is very large - especially given that it's in the "wrong" direction if you hypothesise that the lockdowns are effective.

How do you explain this ?

What is missing here is also how much % GDP dropped if at all and what % of citizens of those counties now have immunity. I% of immunity will determinate how strict will be lockdown measures for the second wave. Also for countries with strict lockdown that stopped all non urgent medical services, how more people will die because they were not diagnosed and healed on time, in the next years.

We will see the result which country tackled covid-19 only in about 2-3 years time. Until then all is just a speculation.

San Marino has had 41 deaths out of a population of 33,000.

So that suggests about 3,300 cases or about 10% of the population.

So San Marino has by far the highest death rate in the world per head of population but is a long way from herd immunity.

cant wait for the 72 WO virgins waiting for me in heaven....

According to my local crypto priest there will be only 21 of them, but the good news is he said that they will be all guaranteed females and they will be handsome cute and always horny[1] too..
As modest as I am, I'd be fine with say 5-8 milfs. I mean I don't want to spend my afterlife listening to Kardashians gossip, makeup tutorials and obscure pimples treatment tips (72 times that is...). Thinking about it, just give me a handful copies of the missus, one for gardening, one for dishes etc., so I can spend all my time having fun with the the other two or three  Grin

San Marino last three weeks no deaths.
The same disease at the same time and some countrys health systems show they are not in good health.

Ah well, thanks for pointing out that you do not use handsome for ladies, wasn't really aware of that. I edited my post accordingly.

Kind of surprised this didn't happen sooner.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitmex-faces-lawsuit-for-alleged-racketeering-and-extensive-illicit-activities
Quote
The lawsuit notes that BitMEX provides traders with extremely high trading leverage (100x) for highly liquid derivatives, which are purportedly calculated based on prices of “two or three illiquid spot exchanges.”

The exchange allegedly enables manipulators and money launderers to operate illicitly by allowing them to open an unlimited number of anonymous and unverified accounts, without trading or withdrawal limits.

The document claims that BitMEX weaponizes deliberate server freezes and uses fraudulent “system overload” events to accept or reject specific trading orders during volatile market conditions in order to exacerbate price fluctuations and trigger maximum liquidations.
