To get us slightly back on topic... If this 'news' effects the price then people are more retarded than what I first thought I also think it demonstrates that we have been primed for a small drop since we shot up so quickly and now people are looking to sell on nothing news.

If it is him I feel extremely bad for him and the fact that something he clearly did not want has been laid on his doorstep. If it is not him then it's even worse because he will have no way to protect himself from the complete harassment he is about to endure.
Now as for the validity. A man so secretive, someone who worked for the government, defense contractors, who knows how the system works, someone who has control of 1,000,000 bitcoins would create a global economic changing currency that he believed would revolutionalize the world and how money is transacted would use his birth name? Seriously?
Someone who was so paranoid and secretive and worried about the government and his personal safety so much so that he turned the entire project over to the foundation and hasn't touched a single bitcoin for fear of being known as the creator would be living in such unsecured, modest, public, accommodations?
A husband, and father, who could finally do something to ease the financial burden of his family wouldn't touch a dime?
I'm not buying it. Maybe it's because I as many others have created such a legend in our minds, such an iconic, mysterious, glamorous, person who created bitcoin only to find out it is a little japanese man living out his retirement in middle class suburbia driving a modest Vehicle living in a modest home it just can't be true. I guess time will tell.

Gavin just cleared up what he meant in #bitcoin-dev
<gavinandresen> you can just ask me what I meant.... I meant publishing personal details about somebody who doesn't want them published is immoral.

I think that the cult of bitcoin can now finally have an icon to worship. The funniest thing still is that people call bitcoin "sound money", while 1mil+ coins are owned by an unknown person with unknown motives If Satoshi would dump his 1mil+ coins and reduce bitcoin price to 10cents, then will everyone jump ship to a new crypto or say that Satoshi is fairly punishing the hodlers for their lack of faith?
