If I have to see one more Talking Head wheeled onto MSM "news" programs, saying that bitcoin "is not backed by anything" and it "uses more energy than a small country"....
It boggles the mind that so few people will bother to do even the smallest investigations sufficient to realise the fallacy of these statements. Especially so if you know you're going to be asked for your 'informed' opinion to be spewed across national TV.
It really does go to prove that Henry Ford was right about the levels of ignorance: "It is perhaps well enough that the people of the nation do not know or understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."
and Andrew Jackson: "In this point of the case the question is distinctly presented whether the people.....are to govern through representatives chosen by their unbiased suffrages or whether the money and power of a great corporation are to be secretly exerted to influence their judgment and control their decisions."
And from Mark Twain, which currently sums up my reasoning for not engaging with such people anymore: "Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."
People think there is some type of invisible safety net for every problem in life these days and that you are guaranteed to reach old age, be healthy and always be given money from the government when you struggle. Keep playing the lottery because you will probably win it one day. In fact it's best to start making plans already and we have plenty examples of people who got rich obediently playing for years. There is no need to think about the millions who never win, YOU will. Just play. Just watch CNN / BBC for this info, wash your hands and keep 1.5 metres apart, take your covid jabs and you will just be hunky dory. Nothing will ever happen to you as long as you comply. Oh but don't buy Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is not backed by anything and uses more energy than a country. It is awful, don't go near it. If you are white heterosexual male, make sure you kneel before every sporting event because you used to be such a racist and this is the only way to prove you now comply. It almost makes you turn into an obedient alpaca all this ridiculous nonsense. The Adam Curtis documentry "The Century of the Self" explains how its all come to pass. If anyone here hasn't watched it I highly recommend it. It basically follows the influence of Edward Bernays (author of the book "Propaganda") and the industry he helped established. The whole idea of which is to manipulate the people into doing the right things. The right things of course are decided by those who know better, you know, the well off, educated, elite types from the city.

[stupidity of people]
The whole reaction to Covid nailed down these points for good; we are utterly lost as a species if group intelligence is the standard of measurement. I also tend to think of Winston Churchill's famous quote in this respect: Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. People rather stick to convenient, simple lies than handle the complex, inconvenient truth Finally somebody sane here. People talk about msm Bitcoin fake news but believe the covid thing. İt's always about money. Keep the system running, make the rich richer. No matter how.

Oh come on now don't fib, no one actually reads a Jay post all the way through, I'm not saying he doesn't make points but it's like an email, you skim it.
I wonder if we could get one of those comment summarization bots working. It could be programmed to recognize only a few basic things... -Finger wagging section -Convoluted figuring of how much BTC you might hold -Sermons on how to average into and out of positions. (JJG, I love you... just a little homo)

on the last 7 seven tokens added to kraken, 7 are erc-20 ethereum token and god know many there are Is that it lol, every dumbass can create a contract and launch a useless token ?
i love trading but man crypto is so shallow and absurd you can't deny that speculation is the dumbest thing on earth even if your in it, especially if your in it seeing it live actually haha
I remember back in the day that someone was talking about making a version of the Bitcoin code where you could just change a few configuration options and create a completely new coin. It almost feels like that happened (a few coins claim to have unique properties but it seems most are just money grabs)

Anyone can make a new token on Binance Chain (BNC) and start shilling it, most memecoins are coming from there as I understand. There are 10+ "fuckelon" tokens available for example and they popped out not much after Elons tweets. So you can probably make more than one in a day. It's pretty stupid, I agree. But it brings more stupid money into the cryptosphere and isn't that a good thing in the end? We who think ourselves as smart money will benefit from that, or not?

Wow. And to think that, soon, many (most?) Bitcoin HoDLer wannabes won't be able to own even 1 BTC... What a waste.
Soon? Already the case and has been for a while. Unless... I wonder if financing buying Bitcoin could be a thing. Kinda like DCA but for the less disciplined.
