I'm currently suffering from March déjà vu, the same way I was utterly wrong about $6-8K being the bottom in Winter, after being right for too many months previously. That same way price closed below the 200 Week MA and people got very nervous, myself included. Now we are doing the same at the 200 Day MA. I was wrong about $42,000 being the bottom, but ironically right about a break below this being a coin flip trade of an immediate continuation of uptrend. I'm otherwise looking forward to posting some private keys in this thread shortly, it's going to be an interesting race: Non-coiners vs Coiners   Please tell me you are down for some quick sweeping? Otherwise, it'd be pointless.
Could someone please confirm the date for me? It's spring right? Unsure of month, looks like March.

Likely a pretty damned insignificant number, except we happen to be bouncing around in its territory, currently.

We shall observe 42-43K, which was support before, but now a resistance line.

$42k to $43k is likely to be a kind of resistance that is merely in the heads of bitcoin naysayers. who lack insight into the fact that we are not likely to be around these here parts very long.

When something bounces back straight up to lower highs from a deep plunge, it is typically a bear market behavior.

I suppose.. could be..   and hopefully you are adequately accounting for the fact that bitcoin is not necessarily any kind of some thing.. so there is that angle too that needs to be considered... when deciding how long u gonna be waiting before buying back in... and not end up chasing the train rather than being on it.

We are good for the moment-consolidating.

I have no problem with consolidating either.. but just seems to me that we are not too likely to be hanging out around here for very long.. but hey.. what do I know?.. I am thinking more likely to be consolidating in the lower $50ks rather than the $40ks.. but not even sure about that either.. just a wee bit of a hunch on my part.

I look forward to the poll.  I would love to know if it's overwhelming in one way or the other, or if it's more 50/50 which would be more difficult.  I would find that poll interesting whether Richy decides to turn CB back on or not.  If he was understandably tired of the abuse also someone else could pick it up, assuming the poll turned out the way I would bet, which is entirely based on my own bias.

Even though there has already been some asking about chartbuddy's postings, there really has only been one member who has expressed any kind of meaningful opposition.. and sure a poll likely would get a few more votes of opposition (since it is anonymous)... If such a poll were conducted probably should be three categories for the votes, something like this:

Maybe you should be tending to your bitcoin stack (and fuck those fucking alt coins) which I would assume is probably in the general realm of very few to perhaps slightly more than very few coins at all because of your general antsy pantsy attitudesy.  So you can stack using a sensible plan like setting laddered bids and then also selling as you might see fit on the way down with whatever amount of your stack you deem for trading, and not touching your principle...

Don't merit back... this kind of merit "trading" is usually frowned upon since merit is supposed to be used for good posts, not to pay someone back.

Come to think of it, even voting via merit is kinda sketchy but at least those yes/no posts could arguably be considered "good".

I agree that voting via merits is probably not a very good practice and I don't personally want to get paid back.. even though I did place my personal max at the yes..

I liked to read R0ach's posts, regardless of the content, they were always with well reasoned argument, he fairly accurately predicted the dip in silver prices, when I was in the market to buy some. Sub $14 in Dec 2015 its now $27.xx wow nearly twice price now. A pretty good investment.

Bitcoin was around $450 at the time.
I guess he was just defeated to see Bitcoin out performing silver by such a huge margin and decided to quit posting his arguments have been proven totally wrong.
Given his love of precious metal I never did understand the anti Semite stuff, maybe he was a Jew himself but a self loathing one.

I left this thread for a while a few years ago because it had become infested with disgusting Nazi bile, which the mods seemed unwilling to do anything about. I had better things to do than to read that stuff. But when I came back it had cleaned up considerably. And merits had suddenly appeared with noobs rated higher than me    And everyone was wearing hats. So I stayed.

I didn't make the vote in time, but I'd be happy to see ChartBuddy remain, for ol' times sake. I'm surprised though at how much passion the issue has kicked up.

J/K. Just didn't want people out of merits on this. Chartbuddy has plenty of merits to spare too. Merits only get half-credits as well so it's not zero sum. I went for merits because they actually have some (marginal) value and I think voting tends to work best when people have skin in the game.
