US Chamber of Commerce Rips SEC for Denying Proposed Grayscale Bitcoin ETF.The largest lobbying group in the US is backing Grayscale Investments’ lawsuit against the SEC, which claims the agency unfairly disapproved the proposed conversion of the firm’s bitcoin trust (GBTC) to an ETF.
US Chamber of Commerce lawyers wrote in an amicus brief filed Tuesday that the SEC’s decision to deny Grayscale’s planned fund reflects “a paternalistic belief that the agency knows better than investors.” The organization, which claims to directly represent 300,000 members, added that the agency’s policy decisions often “depart drastically” from SEC precedent.
“This approach has enabled the commission to pick winners and losers without having to account for its reasoning to the interested public or to the courts, thereby depriving investors of the freedom to make their own investment choices and businesses of the certainty they need to innovate and meet investor demand,” the brief states. +1 WOsMerit addendum - An SEC spokesperson declined to comment.
The agency is scheduled to offer a response to the filed briefs by Nov. 9. filings https://grayscale.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Chamber-of-Commerce-Amicus-Brief-FILED-2022-10-18.pdf

I spotted another PlanB Lugano banner: Of course, hodler priorities… Would you think these banners can lead to motivation or any type of local adoption as if then I am excited to see these banners in my city haha. I am more curious about this one how is it even possible as according to my remembrance we entered the bear market just because of 60k BTC consistent sell pressure as I know there were many other factors, Still there a question? The graph shows that as the Support but the reality is we are facing resistance here. SourceWell anyways buddies I am watching a trap there it might be dump or pump but it will be defiantly trap to grab margin traders soo careful!

I didn’t catch which banner are you referring to when you speak about “adoption” and “excitement”: the first or the second banner?

How are you all doing? Been away for a few days. Alright, alright. New data and analysis coming in. The price won't sustain more than 5 consecutive days above $19k for the rest of the year.
Did someone put this lama / alpaca in its place already? It's been 6 consecutive days above $19k already. Best to shut that lama in a stable for a while and let it have its winter sleep.

Really neat! But if I'm not mistaken, anyone who gets a certain device near your ring, can take BTC from you.. So this ring for small amounts at Bitcoin Beach: yes, but for crowded cities or so... nah, thanks... ( Non-contact credit cards work similarly, but they are insured against fraud. So you can get back stolen funds. )

I'm not sure whether he's a llama or an alpaca. Apparently a llama means someone who sucks, and alpaca means something rude in Mandarin. https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-significance-of-llamas-to-the-gaming-communityWhat is the significance of llamas to the gaming community?
The term dates back to the days of Quake and internet flame wars, where the term “lamer” was used to describe someone who sucked. Eventually that got misspelled into LLama, which somehow “stuck” ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grass_Mud_HorseThe Grass Mud Horse or Cǎonímǎ (草泥馬) is a Chinese Internet meme based on a pun.
It is a word play on the Mandarin words cào nǐ mā (肏你媽), literally, "fuck your mother", and is one of the 10 mythical creatures created in a hoax article on Baidu Baike in early 2009 whose names form obscene puns.
The Caonima, literally "Grass Mud Horse", is supposedly a species of alpaca. The name is similar to a profanity (Chinese: 肏你妈/操你媽; pinyin: cào nǐ mā), which translates as "fuck your mother".

Here it is. IC 1848 (The Soul Nebula). 70 minutes of lights, shot on a night with increasingly foggy sky. After three days of debugging my controller, finally some (yet mediocre) results. Enjoy EDIT: Yeah, the thing is also the focuser of the telescope is periodically stuck, because the finetuning adjustment bearing went bad, so i could not achieve on-the-spot focus. The first ten to twenty minutes were relatively sharp, thanks to the clear sky at the beginning of the night. The scope still needs professional repair, but i got another one with the mount, which seems sturdy enough to deliver minute long exposures without producing star trails, i just need to get a lens that makes the image "flat" to be captured on a camera's image sensor, without producing "star eggs" away from the center. And not to forget, there are still my trusty old camera lenses to be used. EDIT2: GN

China's ban on cryptocurrencies seemed poised to wipe out the domestic industry. That's not quite how things played out. @lagerkranser talks with @Yueqi_Yang and @pingroma about the Chinese government's relationship with crypto. Source: Bloomberg Crypto Are there still people who think China is relevant when it comes to Bitcoin + what domestic industry are you talking about? Bitcoin mining and anything related to Bitcoin or all cryptocurrencies in general is so insignificant to the total Chinese GDP that all these bans did not harm them at all. I don't understand the Chinese government's thoughts until now because they never liked cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin, so I'm still not sure that one day China will like cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin just to take advantage of the situation or a desire that is still buried in the government's mind
Bitcoin in a country ruled by a communist party will never succeed, that should be clear to everyone - but there are many who have never felt what it means to live in communism. Unfortunately, I had the opportunity to see how it works, so I can't imagine that China in this kind of political system could ever accept something that it cannot control. Bitcoin is designed in such a way that it need not give any shits about what "China thinks" about it. People are likely to going to be continuing to use bitcoin in China. Remember 2016-ish? The Chinese govt had largely frozen all of the Chinese jurisdiction bitcoin exchanges, and likely screwed a lot of its regular people from being able to participate in the 2016/2017 bitcoin bull run. Sure some of the chinese people within the jurisdiction might have been able to get back into bitcoin, and some may have realized that their government is working against them by trying to keep them out of bitcoin, but I think that we have seen quite a bit of evidence that merely one jurisdiction (government) being against bitcoin is likely NOT going to stop bitcoin, even though government restrictions do likely have material influential affects on people owh might have otherwise been inclined to get more involved in bitcoin absent the government intervention to make bitcoin unlawful or more difficult to "get into." Not only Bitcoin related: If it takes long enough, it will be all right in the end.
Went on a first-light safari with the old, DIY repaired telescope and new mount We (royal that is) don't care about efforts. We (royal that is) ONLY care about results. Waiting........ Edit: Whoaza.... !!!! Yours truly (ie this here cat, aka me) did not need to wait too long.. I recieved some results after about one hour, or just scrolling down one post, past dee chart buddy to see that the results had already been posted.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg61150310#msg61150310 Sorry that I had some doubts about your abilities to show proof of work..
