Alright guys little confused here, what's better to do sell the SPR soon as snapshot occurs and hope I don't loose too much on the drop of value of SPR or buy helium as soon as it's launched for lower price, what's less risky,do we know the price helium will start at?

Nobody can answer that question as it's impossible to predict.  Just going off History, ZenCash had a higher list price than Zclassic if IRC

CROSS POST FROM SLACK - SNAPSHOT DATE & TIME & EXCHANGE INFORMATION:

KARMASHARK:

Good evening everyone (in Canada it is dinner time ). You all have been extremely patient while we have put together the final pieces of the snapshot and launch. We will have an exchange partner with us and that exchange is Cryptopia. Between the professionalism shown in negotiations with us and their growing positive reputation as an exchange, we felt this was an ideal pivot to make for the network. The reason why we are not using Bittrex is due to the changing regulatory landscape and the internal decisions that stemmed from that (more background checks on coins to be listed, legal requirements and potential lawyers, increased site security and KYC and AML applications). All of these changes put listing a new coin / administering an air drop to a much lower priority from Bittrex's perspective.

We are still on very good terms with Bittrex due to the hard work we put in leading up to this as we went through a thorough vetting process with them between @coins101 and myself.  This work we put will hopefully get us in a position to be listed with Bittrex once Helium launches without hitch. We continue to progress conversations with Bittrex to advance this long term goal for Helium.

About the snapshot:

The snapshot will take place on October 10th, at 10AM NZ local time (Cryptopia is a NZ exchange). The block height is 1657200 and should fall within the listed time-frame. You will want to have your Spreadcoins (SPR) in your local Spreadcoin wallet or deposited at Cryptopia in the Spreadcoin wallet in your account. Cryptopia will be assisting with the air drop of Helium coins so if you are holding your SPR at Cryptopia you will be credited an equal amount of Helium coins once the air drop commences.

In summary, you will have to two options to prepare for the Oct 10th, 10AM NZ local time snapshot of the Spreadcoin blockchain (please note the TZ and adjust for your local TZ):

Holding your SPR at Cryptopia
Holding your SPR in your local SPR wallet

Details on the launch and specifics regarding Cryptopia and holding your SPR in your local wallet will be included in the next update. We are very close now to launching the Helium network so get ready to start your engines, the show is just about to begin.

I'm surprised at bittrex needing more personal details as I can't see how this coin in any way violates even the tiniest aspect of SEC bs. Sounds more like unwillingness because they make so much money off flavor of the month coins that they don't care about older long term projects unless you fork over 20k USD.

The rest of the news is great though thanks for the announcement coverage Rhinomonkey.

Already bought spr for this and plan to mine it too so let's give Cryptopia our volume and other exchanges who don't have cumbersome faux policies.

If you have your coins on Bittrex please move them to your local Spreadcoin wallet or to Cryptopia to be eligible to receive Helium. You need to have this done BEFORE 10AM NZ time on October 10th (9th of October for many people).

I want to choose between these 2 methods: leaving the coins in my local wallet or moving them to Cryptopia. Local wallet is probably more secure, but it is unclear how and when I will receive Helium in this case, and will it be free or I will need to pay some fee?

Free and secure. An exchange was hacked last year and the hackers got all the 2fa codes, so they were able to take all the money. I'm fairly certain they had inside help. I think your SPR wallet is much more likely to malfunction than someone hacking Cryptopia in the next 10 days, there are a lot juicier targets based in countries with less regulation and more easily bribed employees.

Cryptopia method will probably be faster and home wallet is more secure so it's user preference. Hoping someone makes a good dedicated pool nonscammy for Helium.

Withdraw your SPR from Bittrex early, its taking longer than usual. Most probably they have to transfer from cold wallet due to large withdrawal activities.

@coins101

If you're interested, I could try and promote you as a speaker at: https://www.meetup.com/BitcoinWednesday/

It's one of the largest and most popular blockchain conventions and its every month. Evan Duffield spoke there in 2015.

There's about 358 going so far this week. It could be a good place to promote your ideas, get developers onboard and get listed on the ATMs. I have quite a large contract myself to place ATMs around Europe.

SPR needs more notice. The price isn't doing much and yet the volume went up 700%. Whats going on? I know SPR is heavily influenced by bots but id think this coin would have taken off to at least mid 8's by now..

The market is in correction at the moment. If it was rising I think SPR would be much higher. I hope it goes way up before the 9th/10th.
