Long talk with community and Nico about this in Slack yesterday, it will be changed in a short time for the bettter. Also big news are waiting from Populous, they resisted to let it out before anything is 100% for sure.   Cool

I can bet there won't be any big news with the kind of defects that alpha version is having now.
At least not the kind of big news that has any commercial value.

This is only software (increase the number of sw-engineers and web-designer working on it by 2 and it will be fininish in a month), and they improving it constantly, but they did a design(its only the cover of the book not the content)  mistake in the last minutes (only my opinion) this was not good but they are standing up and learning faster than light.
And the news will have big comercial value its going as I understand about China and or a big Invoice related company...

I wouldn't want to bet too much on the hype/dream if I were you.
There is too many silly mistakes that should not even be there in the first place.
The alpha version is simply shoddy at best, assuming if that's the handiwork of a dedicated team.
Whoever the person doing the technical development certainly does not have much major experience in it, no matter what experience he/she claim to have in his/her Linkedin profile.

And I have been questioning myself whether I should ask this after watching the video between Steve and Clif:
What is the level of formal education has Steve attained? And the specialization (if anyone knows about this)?
Just curious considering his written and spoken English don't seem to be up to par.

Dorky I respect you and your opinion and may you sense more than me. And the thing about english language I can not confirm as its not my mother language and I have because of this not the senses to "feel" the language other then hearing how it is spoken.

Populous called the Software a Prototype, a AlphaVersion and V.001( 001 is the a very low number) , when we count it as a Prototype it is exactly doing what it should do: Show how it could be done / A first begining on low level / a piece of discussion.

also understand that this project has a community/public driven part, this is why they show there software on Github, open the BUG-Repository and allow for externals to work/engineer on the smartcontracts.
Because of this we can take part on the engineering and we will see things which are normaly not shared with the public - somebody has to understand this difference before we can judge. Because of this I much better understand PPT than VERI for example.

I had a chat with Nico Williams and the main developer, both are very intelligent people I could understand from there responses.
They both not want to over sell or hide facts(Nico more want to be a overachiever). Nico is a good CEO as I can see from the facts and from feeling.
But he needs more "fire" to drive it up - but I expect the learning curve gets up very fast. - imho

And yes I am very disappointed! about the price reaction PPT did after the Alpha - because of this I may take my attention away of PPT and let it run.
What we all need is several 100% days, to get PPT again on track and keep the mood up and anything will be fine  Wink

Smiley Or to make a long story short, buy PPT, sleep for a while and wake-up rich - This is atleast what Andre Kostolany would have to say about it  Cool

I can bet that you own some PPT coins and its you who was dreaming that you could have been filthy rich after Alpha release! You feel disappointed already? This project has a lot of potential and at least there is something already tangible in this project compared to so many other so-called great coins with only ideas and maybe years away from becoming tangible (if they ever do). Im just touching the surface. Enjoy PPT hodlers! 😃

Hello Everyone,
I'm thinking about investing all my savings and buying about 600 PPT but I have a few questions. My apologies if they are dumb, but I would sincerely appreciate if anyone could help me out:

1-Since the PPT  token runs on the ethereum platform, what would happen if ethereum was ever "killed" by another platform such as EOS. Would Populous be able to switch over and still function ?

2-PPT holders are paid in pokens..but is it safe it assume that holders can use the pokens to compound their interest and increase their PPT amount every year(ex:600-900-1350). I assume a lot of people would do this. Wouldn't the supply of PPT quickly run out very quickly?

3-Are there any rumors about any companies partnering with PPT

First
Don't invest money you can't afford to lose. It is considered to be unwise to invest solely in 1 venture, you can balance your risk by making PPT your primary investment, but not it's entirety. ( THIS IS ADVICE )

1. Ethereum cannot be brought down, it can lose popularity. But as long is it's mined, and facilitates tokens, the network will probably grow.
2. You can convert your pokens to any digital commodity you like, be it dollars, yen, btc or more PPT at it's current market value. After the contract ends.
3. Don't invest based on rumors. Follow the project on twitter to stay updated on any new information.

Also 2 other startups are building an invoice financing system using tokens on the blockchain. One of them has already completed their ICO and is rumored to hit exchanges in 2 days.
I advice you to do more market research before you go 'all-in'.

I have the same concern too, How can be the good news became a beginning of dropping candles of PPT even though the following value are still in profit position for ICO's Investor for now, just it's looks weird when lot peoples predicts the Alpha will make it hit the mars and the fact is the opposite

Thank you for your advice Eindbaasje,

I decided to put about 50% into PPT, the rest is split up between NEO,EOS,Veri, and Tenx.

I dont know much about paypie but I found this youtube video which essentially proves that Hive is a scam:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bgGuA7Ureo&t=724s

PPT is just so far ahead..I assume they have to have a price spike soon

Nice portfolio, kbacha Smiley. Don't forget some BTC  Grin.
Also, beware the stealthFUD floating around the issues of 'quality of alpha release', 'crummy UIX' or 'lack of videos/FAQs'. These expectations belong in the old legacy tech space. If you need more polish, then buy HIVE, which is a rip-off of Populous. PayPie also claims to be the "World's First Risk Score Algorithm" which is patently false. Applying old models to new systems is fruitless. Assess your tolerance for risk and act accordingly. Grin

Based on what's stated in the website, is it correct to assume the rate or return is around 4% through lending in populous?

there's an example showing by lending out  9,500 you will get back 10,000!

R.I.P to everyone who did not buy PPT during ICO. Price has been constantly going down besides a small spike last week before Alpha went live.

How does some "good" news come out for a coin and the price crashes. Why were an extra 4 million coins being added to the market? Who sells their PPT in 1000's on ED at a price like this.

Now we have to hope that by November when the Beta comes that people will actually use this platform to sell their invoices. Will people actual trust Populous to buy invoices and hope they get their money back?

So much uncertainty right now with this.  Shocked

Seriously.  Only two months in and investors are already signaling the deathnell of PPT because the price is not skyrocketing on the release of the alpha version.  Serious investors purchased the tokens to hold for at least at year or two.  Investors looking for a quick price pop should liquidate their holdings and move on.  Based on etherscan none of the top holders have sold so that's good enough for me.

It's just FUD. We ignore these posts and continue to wait until Beta/Live. 99% of us don't care about the short term fluctuations because we weren't selling anyways at $10 or $20 or $2. We look forward to the passive income potential that allows us to quit our jobs eventually. I won't sell at $100 or $200 as long as I can buy invoices at 4% profits each month. Then, I cash out profits and use them to live on and re-invest in other passive income tokens. That's my strategy and the FUD is just FUD. Populous Caribbean Cruise 2018!

I have the same concern too, How can be the good news became a beginning of dropping candles of PPT even though the following value are still in profit position for ICO's Investor for now, just it's looks weird when lot peoples predicts the Alpha will make it hit the mars and the fact is the opposite

Big whales are doing accumulation now situation is more clear after the successful launch of alpha version. In this phase are weak hands will be out from this journey only strong believers will see next level of price after this panic practice.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the price of ppt when you cannot buy it in an exchange anymore.  At some point once the system is live all the ppt will be moved to the populous platform to buy invoices.  This is when I believe we will start to see the price movements.  I foresee a huge premium to buy these tokens if Populous can deliver on the invoices to buy.  Why sell when you are earning a passive income?  You would have to pay a huge premium to pry ppt from my wallet.  Of course this all depends on populous delivering on their end.

About the price not moving after alpha.

It's all got to do with the exchange.
or lack thereof.

It it were on Bittrex, it would have spiked and gone topped off gradually.

Etherdelta is a mess, I've been trying for several days to add funds there, it doesn't work, whatever browser I use, every deposit is send empty with a few (wei) Gas lost.

No exchange, no market volatility.
It's very strange for a top 50 coin (30 even) to only be on Etherdelta.
