Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Good stuff  Grin

On another note... is there word/news on any open boards working? I did some fast searches for 'Klondike' but only got ice cream bars (j/k).  I have NOT looked long/hard but there seems to be nothing in the way of WORKING prototypes for open design boards. Anyone have some news/links?

BkkCoins is making good progress on the K1 and K16 boards. He doesn't yet have any Avalon sample chips, but has still been able to develop and test his design pretty well. It'll be exciting to see once he gets his hands on the first chips. Here is his klondike development thread.

The sample chips are somewhere between here and Chicago. The tracking number stopped updating once the package reached US customs.

All orders received recorded, replied.

Final parts sourcing should be complete within the next few days. A few parts have been ordered, and samples for others are on their way.

Just to clarify - I believe steamboat is only sending emails to those who do not want assembly ("purchase only")
If this was already understood then kindly disregard this message.

Not sure which group(s) you're involved in, but to my knowledge, aside from purchase confirmations, emails have only gone out for the 1st purchase group.

Quick update:

Batch 1 emails have been delayed. My apologies. Everything is on track for being ready before chip arrival. There were a couple possible questions not addressed in the email, and it is being revised to ensure completeness so emails do not need to be sent for each process.

Samples were shipped to BkkCoins this morning.

90% of the accessories have been sourced, with samples en route.
Work on the PCB and bom is being finalized and should be ready for assembly prior to Batch 1's arrival.

Timelines are tight, and the focus is on ensuring the batches are ready for assembly.

Any emails with questions explicitly outlined in the OP or FAQ will be redirected.

All purchases received, recorded, replied. Thread OP update shortly.

Anyone interested in some pics?
