Having worked in customer service myself, I understand the want to avoid difficult questions and try to be general and positive. That being said, I'm sure I'm not the only one that would appreciate some real inormation regarding any correspondence with Avalon. When did you first inquire on the chip orders, Steamboat? Have you received any response? When was your most recent inquiry? Your work is appreciated, but I'm beginning to feel too much in the dark.

Thanks.

P.S. YOUR work regarding assembly and the group buy has been fantastic. A true model for all, bitcoin and beyond.

Okay I'm going to be the bold one here and ask the difficult question.

Will you handle refund requests at all?

I'm seeing no movement in the Avalon bullshit at all, and all there is left is the difficulty going way up while not a single batch of chips has been shipped to this group buy. Seeing as I'm in batch 4, I dont believe I'll see my chips before the end of this year.

So yes, I'd rather have a refund on my BTC, so that is my question now; will you handle refunds?

OR they are all in the van, on the way to Steamboats facility.

Remember -

SB is on the case.

We have invested $500,000 est (in Chips) along with a lot extra for fabrication, with SB being in for a hefty amount personally.

SB would be in contact with Avalon, and arguing our case.

And we are in line, and will be delivered our merchandise in a timely fashion, that is fair and equitable to all stakeholders. (And remember there are numerous groups involved).

I know that I'm nervous, but there are a lot of smarter people that have more time and money in this project than me. It's in their interest to get our miners up and running ASAP, and thats what they are trying to do.

there is something afoot....unsure what atm....
everything has gone v. quiet, and emails are not getting responded.....

This is not steamboats fault, to be fair, the supplier has just gone v. quiet for some odd reason
Personally I think they may have got swamped with the mini usb eruptor sales etc with lowering the price.

Since all of US are buying in a GROUP BUY together with steamboat from Avalon the chips. I doubt that steamboat feels any interest in purchasing your chips in batch 4.
That being said, look at the marketplace here on the forum. There are people purchasing and selling chips in future batches. Look how a market listing is done by someone selling their pre ordered chips. And make your own if you want out.

ASICminer is responsible for the block erupters, not Avalon. Two separate groups.

Was just notified that one of my posts was removed from this thread -- it consisted of "+1" as a comment to someone else's post, that didn't appear inflammatory or otherwise inappropriate. Has anyone else had a post yanked for some reason?

 I believe it was stated elsewhere on the forums that moderators would be actively removing "+1" posts as they just serve to clutter up a thread.

I believe you are wrong.

Friedcat = Asicminer, producer of Avalon chips. Previously produced Blade miners and Avalon miners (batch 1-3). Currently producing Block erupters based on their own Avalon chips.
There are some upcoming avalon blade miners from what i've seen, but i hope they ship the chips before..

Avalon and Asicminer are two different ASIC companies.

YiFu = Avalon
FriedCat = ASICMiner

Different people, different companies, different products and different chips..  Avalon is actually incorporated in Nevada, USA.

Aha hm!! So how come Asicminer are not selling their chips in batches? They would surely make more money that way?
I guess it explains the different in megahash on one single avalon and one single block erupter. Smiley

Asicminer doesn't sell chips at all.  They mine with their hardware.  When they have an excess of hardware (they don't want to mine more than 20% of all blocks) they sell them as blades and block erupters.

I can't imagine any viable scenario where steamboat provides refunds.  It is asking him to buy back a risk that we took.  That wasn't the deal at all.  The group buys wouldn't exist if he had to insure everyone against loss.

Avalon was a known counter party at the beginning that has had the ability to ruin it or make it for everyone.

If other people want to buy out each others risk then maybe some arrangement can be made.  But any scenario where the liability is assigned to the guy that made the opportunity possible isn't right.
