It is is possible if you haven't secured enough your wallet, or if your password or/and email get hacked or stolen. You need to secure your wallet and link it to your phone if you are using the online wallets and choose complicated passwords, and of course store your private key

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

My experience says it can be, but if your question can get into the account. This is already the protection of every user on his computer.

At this time, an attempt is being made to crack my server password in order to get all the monetary data. But there are very few chances to succeed. And if succeed then everything will be lost. I'm also looking for more information about how to protect a server that contains a bitcoin wallet.

Online bitcoin wallets have stages of security, making it almost impossible to hack. But that doesn't mean you should expose your passwords

Some hackers may have the ability to hack in your wallet most specially if you do not have multiple wallets wherein it could make you're bitcoin safer than ever. Having a very unique and strong password may help you avoid getting hacked. And worry less because they can only break into our bitcoin if they have excessive knowledge on how to hack it using their computers.

It might also be a good idea to store your coins in a few different wallets, just in case one wallet for whatever reason is compromised.

That's good mate, storing your bitcoins at different wallet can prevent hackers from initiating and attack for your bitcoins. If ever there is a certaim possibilities and you see signs of hack attemps you can really have to generate and offline wallet just to store your bitcoin amounts.

The most recent hacking incident right now is MEW. There are a lot of phishing site that when you click it and you enter your private key it automatically copied by their computer. And in a blink your MEW is already hacked. Don't easily click the link that you see better to save the url of the MEW.
The security of our wallets is all our liabilities.

Online wallet including a wallet that is vulnrable to hack especially if you use a wallet online that is not so famous?
Make sure you add pin or 2fa (google auth, etc) so your wallet will be very safe. Even I doubt hackers can hack them

yes, it can. there are online wallets and offline wallets.

online wallets gets hacked by hackers by compromising server. while offline wallets can get hacked by virus/trojan and this can lead to compelte losss of bitcoins.

the best option is keep the wallet offline., there are hardware wallets available., if you really need something very secure., then hardware wallets is the only option for now.,

I don't think that there can be any hacker , who can hack Bitcoin wallet .
If suppose someone hacked your wallet ( of blockchain ) then still he need to verify your account with email IP change link .
So he needed to hack the Gmail account also .
But suppose anyone get success to hack.the both two then still he can't use the Bitcoin until he will cross secondary password , which is the main password to make the transaction successful .
And as in the blockchain there is no option for the reset password , so there is no chance to hack.the wallet at all .
But if you are going to share all of your details to anyone or you are using third-party wallet then I am.sure that your money is at risk and anyone can steal.your money .

There are many ways in which a hacker can infiltrate or get into anything that is online. It is up to us to make the necessary precautions in order to at least minimize the risk of being the victim of such criminal activities. Also, online wallet services should make sure they are a step ahead of the hackers in terms of looking at possible loopholes in the site security.

Other research that will be presented in Financial Cryptography 2016 entitled "The Bitcoin Brain Drain" will discuss some things, such as how many brain wallets are in the blockchain today, and how many have been burglarized and stolen. Castellucci and some of its colleagues found 884 active wallets in September 2011 up to August 2015 and had received as many as 1,806 BTC (about $ 100 thousand). They are not the first to find this case. All but the 21 wallets have been stolen within 24 hours even in minutes. This shows the technique described in this study is a technique that is commonly used.
If you use a brain wallet, then you should review your wallet security level, even if necessary, move it to a safer wallet.

None of these methods are 100% risk-free. I know one instance in which my friend lost his coins from his Blockchain.info wallet. He had email confirmation enabled, and he had two passwords (one each for login and transactions). The hackers were able to login to his gmail, and then they were able to steal both of his passwords.

I think it is very difficult for a hacker to hack your wallet. Bitcoin is well known for its security. It is the strongest and safest currency for transactions around the world, which is why it always exists and grows. Only new exchanges are hit by hackers, they can not attack bitcoins.

The Bitcoin private key for your public address will never be hacked by conventional methods. < Brute force > The computational power to do this is simply not enough and the electricity you will waste to do this over time will outweigh it's benefits to do it.

The most vulnerable point of attack is at the 3rd party service providers, for example : Online wallet providers & Bitcoin exchanges, where the code is weak and exploitable. < Also centralized >

Hackers are not as likely to get access to your wallet as you boyfriend or girlfriend.  Just protect your private keys with your life and don't accept downloadsbfrom strangers.  Also- for heavens sakes  don't send your precious  btc to anyone promising to double it or triple it... just hang on tight to your btc and dabble slowly. Dabble carefully.  Hackers ad the least of your worries. Cheers!

can they hack into our wallet. There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances? Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?

Gday Smiley

That's a broad question, here's my take :

Hacking your wallet can mean many things :
  • getting the password to your wallet program - POSSIBLE, easiest
  • stealing/manipulating your addresses as they are used - POSSIBLE e.g. virus
  • stealing from an online wallet service - POSSIBLE, very hard
  • brute-force cracking your addresses - IMPOSSIBLE

The main risks are the usual ones - PC and password security.

Well of course. Wallets are vulnerable to hacks especially the online wallets. Unlike the Bitcoin technology, wallets (online) are centralized that are vulnerable for a possible hacks. So in order to protect your coins, have a hardware or cold wallet that are seldom connecting online. The less the wallet is connected online, the less the possibility of being hacked.
