The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Cryptsy has added the following XMR (Monero) markets:

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/XMR_LTC & https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/XMR_BTC

Could you add them to CoinMarketCap as well?

Thanks in advance!

Graphed volume data is incorrect. It appears to be worse the longer the time-span that you view. When you are viewing a 1-year span, the volume segments of 'Week starting monday....' are far too low. When you zoom in, more volume appears. Have you been aware of this issue? Doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to fix.

Hi Gliss,

We received an interesting response to my CoinTelegraph article
CoinMarketCap: ‘About 40% of the Coins Ever Added to the Site are Now Inactive’
http://cointelegraph.com/news/115160/coinmarketcap-about-40-of-the-coins-ever-added-to-the-site-are-now-inactive

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1158855.msg12247177#msg12247177

A reasonably complete analysis of the coinmarketcap pages stored on archive.org suggests that it's closer to 30%.

List of “decapped” coins (no longer listed on coinmarketcap), each with a hyperlink to the corresponding bct thread.

Corrections welcomed.

Cheers

Graham

This is not meant as FUD towards DASH, but DASH got delisted from bitfinex. Thus, you should remove them from coinmarketcap as well, since currently it kind of skews the volume and price.

API is down?  https://www.1szb.com/json/topQuotations.html?symbol=2

When you zoom in, more volume appears. Have you been aware of this issue? Doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to fix.

Remember that the data is showing "last 24h volume" at the time recorded, not volume for the timespan itself as most graphs show.  Edit:  I just doubled checked and it does seem like there is an issue here, looking into it.  Thanks.

A reasonably complete analysis of the coinmarketcap pages stored on archive.org suggests that it's closer to 30%.

Interesting!   I'm sure there are some coins that were added and removed between snapshots too.

Thank you for your wonderful service!

Are you able to add the YoBit market for PayCon [CON], it is missing from the exchange list.

https://yobit.net/en/trade/CON/BTC

Also, the image logo for PayCon is fairly dated, this is the current logo.

Like I noticed YoBit exchange better to do it here also. What happened is confusing. Conspiracy Coin who have symbol CYC for long time ago is listed like that on some exchanges, like Poloniex. Now you added Cyclingcoin with same symbol CYC (listed like that on YoBit) and that should be changed since made confusion at least for me. Only right thing to do is to leave year old Conspiracy Coin with symbol CYC and rename new one with something else.
