altcoin is suitable as a substitute for bitcoin although it is not a major transaction in cryptocurrency. altcoin is often used in trading activities because there are so many kinds and different price per coin. so we can use to gain profit from trading

Most of altcoins won't have a future because they are intended to fill someone else pockets. They are a target for pump and dumps but there are some real use cases out there. Some of them do provide value to the cryptocurrencies tech. Think of altcoins like lab rats. They test new ways to bring innovation to the blockchain. But in the end they all serve the purpose to make more bitcoin.

Altcoin have future but amount altcoin maybe survive is low , because almost altcoin is fork ,clone of some altcoin .
Altcoin will survive and growing up fast if this altcoin have good developer team behind , roadmap, and a lot of people use it .
With me, i think altcoin have 2 rank is eth is best altcoin that i can invest all my money .

Next to bitcoin, etheream is remaining the best altcoin in my vision. ETH is having a promising future that many wish to invest in ETH. I think moero and litecoin comes the next and other coins based on the nature and characteristics they survive long term or short term.

In general my opinion is that whatever has to do with technology has a great future. More over some altocoins have a great technology which serve an actual purpose. Ripple is one them. The technology is great and sky is the limit as some banks are already using it. In addition another great coin is ethereum. This technology will be used by all big companies out there eventually (see microsoft) and as we all know all ICOs use it.
For sure not all altcoins have a bright future ahead. Study coins that serve a global purpose, that fill gap in the global markets in any sector. If you feel that the purpose and scope of the coin is good go ahead. Remember not to put all your eggs in one basket as many coins wont make it as they promise.

I think that bitcoin still remains as the number one coin but I believe that altcoins really have a future. Altcoins help other projects come to life and gives other people more opportunities. After all altcoins are based on bitcoins with added feature that bitcoin can't do. I still hope for the best that altcoins can have real life applications and uses, but nonetheless I see potential in altcoins.

Definitely they have good future look at ETH ,WAVE, NEO,BCC ..etc ,perhaps some altcoins will be strong competitors for bitcoin if new adapted technologies failed in bitcoin blockchain . so choose no hype\dead altcoins only .

Most of these coins are going absolutely no where, as we have seen over and over again. However, this does not mean that people should stop trying. Who knows, the replacement for BTC may eventually rise up and come from this space. Maybe, maybe not.

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.
What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?
I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.
If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.
Without altcoin, bitcoin will have no competition. I think that bitcoin price will not raise that high if altcoins do not exist. Some how altcoins helped bitcoin to be more marketable. Some altcoin really has potential, and some would even be considered as second to bitcoin such as ethereum. Competition may seem as a progressive thing on the market, but actually bitcoin has no competitors, only Bitcoin Cash used to come close to bitcoin's price when it just appeared. I suppose when other currencies will be able to rich the same point bitcoin will go far away with it's price already. I count altcoins as a real problem for bitcoin community, yes, some of them have a future, but all of them just cannot. I suppose in the future only ETH, LTC, BCC, Monero and ZChash will cost something good, other will just disappear. All those shitcoins just parasitize on bitcoin's sucess, such projects were exactly reason of why China is going away from the bitcoin use.

To compare price wise yes there is no competition to bitcoin, BCC just touched once the $1000 price and dropped to the bottom. it was just beginning boom some investors made that coin to reach that price. but now it is stable at a good price. Except this ETH will cross $1000 margin in next year. Other coins don't know.

This can lead to a drop in the price of the coin. The whales will now attempt to reduce prices below cheaper to buy the necessary for producing the amount of ETH. Then there will be a price increase but the popularity of ETH may be reduced.
