i bought a new MSI vega56.

it arrived today,so i set up and some tune on my test rig.

first,i tried stock bios and softpowerplay, it set CORE  1400mhz MEM 950Mhz.
probably,hit it around 1800H/s i guess, but it hit 1900H/s.(used block-chain-driver)

i have no idea this situation. its legendly silicon? lol

GPU-Z show MEM 950 actually. anyone have idea?
https://imgur.com/cLYHU17

Amazing.
1. What is your system RAM and HBCC setting?
2. press 'r' to see if the shares are correctly. Pool diff / hashrate should nearby the avg. time.

got two vega 56 today , $459 each

flashed them with 64 bios and they both do 40 mhs eth

I will switch them to monero tomrow, I think its a no brainer vs the 1080ti or 1080

vega 56 all the way

I still think its better howerver to buy 2 rx 580 4GB for $250  than a vega or 1080

Is it normal to have some Invalid Shares? Pool shows 10 Invalid after 8070 valid and 33 hours.

Maybe then more profitable 2 RX 570 4GB for 190-200 $ ...

I'm trying to build an 8 gpu single rig with vega 56 cards.

While waiting for the cards to arrive, do you think I will be able to enable HBCC on all of them ? Is it only a memory issue or a driver problem?

reading all the topic from the beggining, noone managed to make all hbcc enabled... i'm on progress with 2x rigs with 4x (each) 56's on tb-250 btc biostar mobos...maybe in the future if me or someone else find a solution i'll stick 2x more on each.. but so far it's a no brainer (not) cheap solution for very very good XMR hashrates

That was exactly my thought process when I built my 2 rigs running 4x64 Vega each. If you have some 2x8GB DDR3 RAM lying around in other computers like me, it turns out much cheaper. I can live with 8GB on my main PC until my mining machines can finance an upgrade and my summer home PC can live with a pair of 2GB sticks until summer. I am using ASRock H81 BTC R 2.0s. This way, the increased hashrate will pay for the second system in 2-4 months, less if you already own some components.

someone should try it with compute mode enabled.
And with more then 4 gpus too.
There were some negative reports here about this driver but I'm not sure they make everything ok and enabled new compute mode switch.

I have no idea, the diff is changing... what about your pool report?

And if you increase the memory clock, will it get more hashrate?

You can try use hwinfo64 to monitor.

Can you enable HBCC on 4 cards with only 8GB of real ram on board, using virtual memory ?

I doubt you could find them at that price....nowadays it's more > 300$
Besides, for same hashrate, you wil have more power consumption for 2x 570 vs a vega

Im not sure, 2 RX 570 its about 230W and this is 55 Mhs, what about Vega 56 ? 39-43Mhs and what about power consumpiton?

Vega 56 can do 44mhs eth @ 150watt (1220/1100@820mV) or 1940h/s XMR@150watt (1408/1100@875mV) or 43mhs eth + 200mhs lbry @ 210watt (1220/1100@820mV)
2 well tuned polaris cards are still better then 1 vega56 for ETH but vega is better in xmr and dual-mining

how do you change the mv on polaris, i can get to 1100 mem on vega 56 but cant
change the voltage to allow dual mining

Did you mean Vega, not polaris?
You can downvolt Vega with softpowerplay reg mod if you have aug23 blockchain drivers or with regular tools (overdriventool + afterburner) if you run recent amd drivers

Thanks to all for the opinions.
I've only 3 empty GPU slots at the moment. So I think Vega56 is quite good. I should to get experience in Red GPUs.
