Any news on Aphelion? I won't regurgitate what we already know, but the timing of that ICO and the next fork are pretty close to each other, so it could be important.

This will be interesting for NEO, the Aphelion ICO is on the 15th November https://apheliontoken.com/ and the SegWit2x fork for is due around the 16th November.
So where to put your Bitcoin - into NEO for the Aphelion ICO or Bitcoin for the fork, desicions, desicions!

Whether new incoming ICOs follow the trend of the previous ones due to the strength of btc, I don't think you can make a mistake in deciding where to have you btc.

Btw, I'm really enjoying this hype for the new neo news.

I already waiting for NEO to recover and reach back at where it was when I bought. It is giving good signals as whole cryptomarket collectively is back on the track with everywhere green. It seems that with upcoming wallets this project still need lot of time to complete the things. It has potential there is no doubt but everyone with own goals and terms.

Hi guys, sorry for my question. I own some NEO on the exchanger but I'm looking for a way to store them somewhere for long term. Which is the safest one?

Me too - the best thing is to stake your neo in the neon wallet and receive free gas - unfortunately the neo website won't load atm.

Can someone tell me do you need the neon wallet open all the time to receive your gas?

No. And you can claim your gas anytime you want.

if you could be a little bit more specific about which wallet you are having problems with, and the nature of your problem, we might be able to help you out. I'm using the NEO-GUI wallet and it is working just fine.

Before doing anything backup your wallet .db3 file, this step is most important.
Now that you have backed up your wallet we can start to mess around a bit, the following usually fixes 99% of problems.

(1) Rename the folder you have all the NEO files in, say to NEO_OLD, this will ensure you still have all the old stuff if anything goes wrong.
(2) Reinstall the NEO wallet https://github.com/neo-project/neo-gui/releases - let it sync ( you can use the bootstrap file to help speed up syncing, https://github.com/CityOfZion/awesome-neo#blockchain-bootstrap-files )
(3) Close the NEO wallet.
(4) Copy your backed up wallet db3 file to some folder, i.e "Wallet", where you just re-installed the new wallet files.
(5) Restart NEO and when asked where the wallet is point it to your copied wallet.

Hope this helps.

Just noticed there is a new NEO wallet, 2 days old. Think I'll give it a go..wish me luck Smiley

EDIT: Just installed the new wallet - it works fine, feels a little quicker too.

You do not need to keep any of your NEO wallets open at all to receive GAS. You can stay offline for any number of years, come back later and claim all generated GAS over that time period if you would want to. Owning NEO and storing it at an address of your own is enough to entitle you to the generation of GAS. The specialised bookkeeping nodes will keep the NEO network running. Keeping NEO at Binance or Kucoin will also entitle NEO holders to GAS, but not if held at other exchanges currently. Keep in mind though that generally holding any cryptocurrency at an exchange is the least safe option available.

The safest way to store your NEO would likely involve the hardware wallet called Nano Ledger S. NEO support for the Nano Ledger S is almost entirely in place, but I would wait for confirmations for that. The next hardware wallet that will have NEO support is Ledger Blue (if you are willing to wait longer and do not mind the price tag).

What you can also do is ensure you leave no wallet files or private keys on your computer (but make backups that are not connected to the internet) and ensure you have a good anti-virus program and anti-malware program which can be something like Avast, Malwarebytes and HitmanPro to ensure there is no malicious software on your computer.

Yeh, I noticed that too, what does it mean ? Every time I start up the wallet the numbers are something like this 0/1542777/1542800 then, after letting it fully sync and puting in the wallet password, it goes to 1542872/1542872/1542872 (or whatever the current block height is)

The wallet is working just fine.

Highly recommend great website supporting NEO http://neosupport.io/ 👍

Nicely laid out web site, it's good to see another addition to the NEO fleet that can provide some well put together info.
As usual, as soon as any info on altcoin is published it is out-of-date, the tutorial on the NEO-GUI wallet, for example, shows images of the old wallet, even though the github link shows the new wallet.

Still no real news from China how ICO and Bitcoin ban or trading vs. CNY is handled in the future, or did I miss it? NEO also just more going a bit down or sidewards. Hope NEO and the other ALTs will get the money from Bitcoin if it's consolidating and it's not flowing back to FIAT instead.
