Can anyone explain to me why experts believe the future of gaming is in the cloud? Thank you Smiley

YOu wont need to get expensive hardware to play games. Even in the west i think a lot more people would play games if they dont need to get hardware. Imagine all the poorer countries where
they cant afford the hardware, so are excluded from better games

So investing in cloud systems is also a good idea?

This idea is not new. A lot companies already tried cloud gaming ... and in the end, all had to close their service, because it wasn't profitable.

I saw that games on playkey.net are available through Steam, Uplay. Do you have any licenses or partnership with these firms to provide such a service? So how can you have one licensed copy of the game, and it is launched for online access for many players? Is it legal, if it is so? Games are only available for the computer, since the client is only under windows. What are the plans for expanding the supported platforms?

What are some of the examples of previous cloud gaming? I'm honestly not familiar with them.

The problem will be the latence, hard to know how they'll correct this in the future.

I know gamers that still use PS/2 keyboards over usb or wireless because they have few ms less input lag.

the problem will be corrected with access to faster internet, which will happen sooner or later.

The internet latency will never be 0 as long as it is limited by the speed of light. Even a fiber-optic connection has latency greater than 0.

That table shows the theoretical limits.

So basically you'll pay for these tokens to run your games on a higher performance. But long-term, surely it would be more beneficial in terms of price just to buy the GPUs yourself?

It is like buying a car or using a "car sharing" service. We believe that shared economy model is the future, cause it brings huge benefits for end users as saving money and usage flexibility with "pay as you use it" business model.

"pay as you use it" is better than the subscription model

I feel like its time for some internet scaling debates! Can we fork the internet?

I never thought about using ps/2 keyboards for less lag , funny what competitive people look at to get an edge

I think the most famous was OnLive (I think it was also one of the first). In the end, it failed because it just wasn't profitable. I am not sure, but I think the service was bought by Sony and is now basically Playstation Now. After that there were several tries. I tested one a few months back, don't know the name anymore. Their concept was, that you can play all your Steam games, which was nice. The setup for that was pretty easy, just activate some remote stream option (something like that) and log into your steam account on the remote machine, which was my main concern, because you have to enter your steam account to a cloud pc. It worked OK-ish.

Has somebody tried cloud mining on the blockchain before? I think I never heard about something like that.

This project is definitely a winner. I hope everything would be achieved in time after ICO. I am a bit impatient to see the working product.

Kind regards,

You are right, it's inevitable really, and when you look at the bandwidth growth lately, it's is not even far away.

Don't forget to add the latency converting electronic signals to light and vice versa.
You will need to find a way to keep the connection distributed and close to your home. But that can all be done with smart algorithms

Kind regards,

I can say that we are not alone as we and the crowd is a bit impatient as well as the investors and the cryptoworld is excited to see the working product.

Partnership with Ubisoft, Electronic Arts? This is true?  Shocked
Where we can read the confirmation this? Does Ubisoft have this info on their site?
I dont any further information , but there is a statement about this on their linked in.

https://www.linkedin.com/company/playkey

And an article who tells about this.

https://techcrunch.com/2017/07/21/playkey-raises-2-8m-to-fund-its-us-expansion/ (already posted on a few pages before)

Playkey collaborates directly with major game publishers. That means they already working together with those well known publishers. If it's true then it will give a plus value to playkey.

I've had a look at the current website and I've noticed that you are currently using STEAM for access to the games. Will you develop your own system but decentralised ?

Those partnerships look interesting, weird that there is not much promotion about it.

I could imagen that the streaming market is still not big enough for big publisher to make a lot of promotion for it. Also they probably want to sell more hard copies of the games maybe? With faster internet services over time the streaming market could be a really really good alternative for the current gaming sector.

oh.. I see that they have nice bonuses for pre-sale... But amount to high for me...
60-150 ETH - 25%
151-500 eth - 30%
501+ eth -35%

May be devs will reduce min amount?  Huh

Yeah, same with me, have to wait for ICO. Does anyone know how much they have raised in pre-sale so far?
